UTA AP BSN program Fall 17

Published

So I'm trying to see anyone is going to apply for UTA's AP BSN program the fall of 2017. I have been following threads and trying to get some information about how this program is set up. I did my application to the school last year for the Fall of this year. I'm trying to knock out my science classes, but I have withdrawal from my biology class 4 times and Im wanting to take my chemistry over the summer. Possibly doing my other 2 sciences with UTA. I haven't taken the Hesi A2, I plan to take that around the Fall. So, I just like us to update with each other and encourage each other to get into the program. I would do my stats, but I haven't taken gotten them yet. As soon as Im finished, I will post them. Everyone is free to post theirs

getoutanride!!! Congrats!!! PS (hahahaha now get back to studying for that Patho exam this week!!)

I only applied to the AO program and got an acceptance e-mail today! My stats are

Science GPA 3.75

Prereq GPA 3.65

Considerations, 3 science at UTA, over 30 hours at UTA and partnered with HCA

One of the nurses on my floor graduated form the program in May 2016, he told me he was wait listed and cleared in less than 2 weeks. Another nurse on my floor told me she was wait listed and cleared in about 4 weeks, but she had already accepted another program.

April 5 is the acceptance deadline, so I would expect them to accept more people after that.

Congratulations to those that got in and good luck to those on the wait list.

Hello everyone. I just decided to share with you all that I received an email yesterday. If there is anyone that has been previously wait-listed, how likely is it that I will get accepted? I have a 4.0 GPA but no other considerations.

I got in too partnered with HCA

That's so nerve wracking Brandon! If you don't mind me asking did you apply for online only in Dallas area? I'm sure where you are willing to do clinicals at makes a difference.

No I'm in Houston. No relocating for me...wife, kids, house, etc... This is a second career for me.

Yikes that makes me even more nervous! I'm in Houston as well. Same here married with kids and just bought a house 6 months ago so no moving for me. This is the only school I can really apply for because I work full time and although I have plenty of time to study and do homework at my job I can't take off 5 days a week to go to an on campus program. My stats are very similar to yours. My overall GPA is about a 3.6, but I haven't taken any science classes at UTA so no considerations. Hopefully we both get called off the waiting list! Fingers crossed!

Houston location is hard to get into because of the limited spots.

hey guys i have a question, im applying for program for spring 18, but i know i have to take pharm, patho and intro to nursing. Ive completed everything else, can you get accepted into the program before you start those 3 classes?

I'm in Houston too, and Texas A&M Corpus actually has an online program too- just FYI!

Yes you can get accepted without those completed while applying, just as long as they are completed before the nursing school starts. Just a heads up, UTA only accepts Patho and Pharm from their university. I'm assuming you were going to take it with them but just in case otherwise.

Giving up my spot. 1 online and 1 campus should open up. Reapplying in Spring. Need to restructure my work and family life prior to starting.

I hate to hear that, but understand that family comes first.
