Am applying to UT tyler nursing program for spring 2015. Anyone else applying? Feel free to post comments.
Orientation is the 7-8 of January. We have to get our scrubs and patches. Theres a paper in there that has a place we can buy them at. If you're anxious to look at the packet then go to the UT Tyler website and in the nursing section of the Palestine campus page it has a nursing orientation link. Its the one for Tyler so it has a few extra pages then my packet does but they're pretty much the same.
I received and email from Kadi that says,
"For my brand new nursing students coming in Spring 2015, you do not have to make an appointment with me before the 31st. You do need to have everything done before you can be cleared to register minus CPR and the Board of Nursing blue card. If you have everything else done then you can come get cleared. Sorry for all the mix up!"
So we do not have to have all of this done by Friday as stated in the acceptance letter. Thank goodness because I was not about to have all of my shots done the same day! That just does not seem healthy for the immune system! I did get my Hep B started. I will try to get the TB test and the DPT on Wednesday. I should be able to squeeze the drug testing on Friday but I think it takes several days for the results to come in so I won't get everything done by the 31st. But as I said, it appears that this is ok? Just to be clear, is this what you all think as well? Because if not, then I will need to call off work tomorrow to wrap this stuff up pronto.

Hey guys! I just wanted to let you know about a CPR course I took! It's cheaper then what ut Tyler offers! It's $55 for new course and the company has many appointments a week, like 10 a week. She works really well with your schedule. It's Vital Act CPR. If you google it you will find available appointments. It's really awesome! Also traditional students on Tyler campus have orientation next week! Can't wait for that!

Hey guys! Loyalweim, I signed up for the Nov 8 CPR at TJC so I'll see you there! I have my appt with the advisor on Oct 30. I'll have all shots, TB skin test and drug test completed by then. All I'll be waiting on is CPR and blue card from BON. Is anyone buying uniform etc before the first week of class?
Sweet 2sons! I look forward to meeting you!
