UT Houston 2011 summer accelerated program

Hey guys,

Just wanted to reach out to those applying for the summer 2011 semester. Does anybody know when we should be expecting interview letters?

Does anyone know when they will be finished interviewing? Just curious.

I'm wondering the same...

I had my interview for UT-Houston's accelerated program February 14th. They said the 15th was their last interview day.

Really? Last year it went well in to March.. I wonder what that means?

I read in the past posts from last year that the people they interviewed in March were extreme circumstances. One of the girls posted saying they had messed up her application and once everything was fixed they interviewed her late since it was their mistake. So I don't think too much has changed from last year. All I'm hoping is that we hear back sooner than April 15th. That seems so far away!

Anyone have any information on how new grads from UT are faring with finding jobs in the med center after graduation? Specifically in the ICUs and ERs?

I can't speak for new grads from UT, but a few of my friends who graduated from schools in the East Texas area are having trouble getting jobs in the med center in houston. I know MD anderson is on a hiring freeze. I don't know if things are much better in the DFW area where I live.

Anyone know how new grads are doing in the DFW area?

Oh, and we will be able to check UT-Link around the end of March to see if we go in or not. Letters will be later.

I think a lot of hospitals are on hiring freezes... I live in College Station and they are only hiring GN's in certain departments to get their census up to where it was before the freeze. No extra staff, even if it means having adequate nurse to patient ratio. They're swamped here.

Hey guys...check your Utlink status because mine changed from pending to admitted today...But on the left where it says program...it says BSN generic Nursing. So I don't know if that means it's the traditional track or accelerated or what...It says the same for Summer 2011 and Fall 2011 so...? But I would be happy with either:)

Congrats gpack!!! My status still says pending but my holds have changed. Hoping for the best...

Let's hope for the best! In past threads it has usually been a good sign, but I remember someone not being accepted even after their holds had changed.
