UT Houston 2011 summer accelerated program

Published

Hey guys,

Just wanted to reach out to those applying for the summer 2011 semester. Does anybody know when we should be expecting interview letters?

Thank you, brandi! Good luck to you, too!

Just breath and try to make the best impression you can. I worry about getting emotional in the interview. I am sure they will ask why I want to be a nurse and no matter how I explain it, I always end up crying at the end... I hope they don't think I'm crazy :(

Brandi--i wouldn't worry about getting emotional. I think they'll see how passionate you are about nursing. :)

I hope so! I hope you rock your interview tomorrow!

Hey Guys! Now that they have decided to restructure the program, do we really know that that means, other than it being 4 semesters now?

I am curious to know if the number of days we will be required to be at TMC will change..you know, important details like that... I am glad it will be 4 semesters, because it really helps lighten the work load, but as far as the other requirements, I don't know what to expect.

Does anyone know?

I asked today during my interview and was told that we should expect to be required to be on campus one day per week not counting clinicals. Students will have the option of attending lecture in person, but all the professor post their lectures online as well. It sounds like it will pretty much be exactly the same as the traditional program...just starting in the summer.

Hello fellow hopefuls! I have my interview next Tues the 15th at 8 AM and I'm super nervous! GOOD LUCK to all of you!

Thanks Cgibson! I emailed the SON, but I haven't heard back.

@ Kayce: I have my interview the same date and time! Good luck!

Hey Guys,

Just had my interview this past thursday. It went absolutely amazing. I know regardless of what I say everybody will be a little nervous come interview day. But it wasn't bad at all. The person I interviewed with was great and made me feel completely at ease. Regardless of what the outcome is I know I did the best I could and have absolutely no regrets. I did find out how many applicants there were to start with and how many spots were available. The applicant pool was 794 people. They took 200 people from that pool and there is 60 spots available for the summer semester. You are automatically looked at for the fall semester as well and you do not have to interview again since the fall semester does not require interviews. For that semester you are chosen based on Hesi scores. As far as Hesi scores they said a good average score to have would be in the 80's or 90's and that the anatomy avg score was about 85.Okay I've written a small novel so I'll leave it at that. Good luck to everybody who has interviews coming up this week!!!

Congrats feistyaggie...glad it went well. I had my interview on Wed and I felt like it went well too...the lady I interviewed with was great and I so enjoyed talking with her that I almost forgot it was an interview, lol.

Anyway...thanks for the info and good luck to everyone interviewing this week!!

Thanks for the info, feistyaggie! I wonder if everyone in the applicant pool had completed applications?

Good luck to everyone interviewing this week!

Does anyone know when they will be finished interviewing? Just curious.
