UT Houston Summer 2010 Accelerated Program

Published

Hello All,

I am currently in the process of trying to get into the UT Houston Summer 2010 Accelerated program. I am not sure if there is a thread already started. But if there is not one I would like to start one. Hopefully we can use this thread and keep up with one another. Who else is hoping to get into UT Houston's Summer 2010 Accelerated program?

LOL. Maybe we can meet up for an early breakfast near the school. I'm not familiar with the area (I'm from Tomball) but I guess we can work something out.

If not, I'll look for your sign. :lol_hitti

You are most welcome! Good luck! I'm sure you'll do fine

Good luck mlh - Let us know how you do and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

LOL, that's an awesome smiley!

I sent you a private message, so let me know!

bach09...You have me worried! That is wierd that they have not received your scores yet. I am not taking the NET exam until the 21st of this month and as you know, applications are due by December 1st. I called ERI to make sure that UTHSC will receive the scores by the deadline. The lady on the phone told me that the schools set the test dates based on their application deadlines and that it takes about a week for the test results to be received by the school. I am just nervous that my scores won't be received in time. If anyone else knows anything else about this please share. Thank you!!!

I think you guys should be fine. As you mentioned, it is the school who sets the test dates to make sure that the results get to them on time. You have more than enough reason to fight it if they deny you consideration just because your scores don't get there on time. My advice is to keep emailing the school so that they know you're on top of everything. The more you keep emailing, the more likely they are to remember your name.

Bach09: I would call ERIworld ASAP to speak to them about the matter. Their website crapped out on me when I registered for mine, and by the time it was up and running again, my spot was taken. I called them and they were very very responsive and considerate to what happened, so I'm sure they'll be same way should you call and inquire about your scores.

Don't worry, you guys will be fine. Good luck!:specs:

Kstar and LPSJones, I should have mentioned that I took the NET here in Germany at a Pearson Vue testing center. Then had to call ERI and have them send the results...ERI said they emailed and mailed them but the school has not received them, that is why i worry, i took it on the 27th so I guess I still have time I am just nervous :) I will keep calling though and will send an email to the school today, thanks Kstar. Sorry LPSJones didnt mean to worry you. Good luck all

LPSJones I am retaking the NET exam on November 21. I see that you are taking yours the same day. What testing center will you take the exam?

Ohhh, I see. Well, perhaps the fact that you are there has something to do with the delay. Regardless, keep trying to get in contact with them to make sure everything is okay. Ask for tracking numbers of any documents that may have been sent if possible (unless they were all sent electronically).

I hope everything works out. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. Good luck!

Well good luck on your exam and on being accepted. I will post as soon as I hear anything from them. Was the NET exam hard? I bought a study guide and it seems pretty easy. I am hoping it is very similar to the actual test. Have you applied to any other programs? Thanks :) Have a great day!

Hi there. I just got accepted for the spring, and I thought I'd chime in. I thought I'd totally ace the NET. I'm 40 years old, and I have a B.S. in chemistry, cum laude. I also have very strong writing skills. The math is very straightforward, but the reading is a serious pain in the butt. There are very intelligent people in the population for the spring admission with 4.0 GPAs that got disappointing scores on the reading. Some didn't even make the 70 and had to retake it. I got 100 on the math and 76 on the reading. I would encourage you to take the practice tests in the study guide and take the test seriously. It's NOT easy.

One more quick comment: The problem on the reading is often that all of the answers are "right" and you must choose the one that is the "MOST right."

That makes sense! I feel much better now! Thank you for the clarification! :)
