UT Houston Fall 2010 (University of Texas at Houston)

Anyone here applied already?

Have you taken the NET exam?

You could have looked up Fall 2009 or spring 2010 as well. It is not exactly a state secret. If you did well in your interview and you have good grades, this wont hurt you at all. If you dont get in, it wont be because someone posted their essay prompt on here.

Just relax, Im sure you did fine, just believe in your ability.

Good luck everyone!!!

Well, I thought I was pretty forthright about my interview questions The reason I didn't share specific questions ws because they were previously mentioned such as why do you want to be a nurse and so on. I can tell you that I know there were two different essay questions and they were previosly mentioned also. Also with the essay, someone who had interviewed last year said she wrote down basically her hospital's protocal for that situation and didn't get in. So I think they want to know how you would handle this situation. I am not sure if there is a right way to answer necessarily. I also think that all this bickering brings the mood down. Let's just all be supportive because this is definitely not helping us.

so 950 applicants>>>300 made it to the interview>>>150 will get accepted?

50/50 of getting in.... wow, relief.....higher chance of gettin in than I thought......I can almost see the finish line....hope I do not trip

cuz I do not want to wait next fall :p

all I can say about the drama is that I can see passion in each everyone of you!

passion in wanting to be a nurse!

Passion will ultimately be the very reason why you want to stay in nursing.

I'm sure WE WILL help each other out when WE ALL get accepted

because competition is out of the equation

I couldn't agree more

and to juniperleaf, someone else posted that exact question on a thread for last year, so im pretty sure every one on here has already seen it. they obviously don't mix up the questions too much. so that response isnt going to make a difference to anyone..and won't benefit them too much than it already did when they read the old post.

One of my friends, who also went to the interview, asked how important in terms of acceptance the interview was. The lady said the interview is a very very small fraction of determining if you get accepted. She said Gpa's, Net scores, and how many classes a student has left are the biggest factors, but there are alot of other things that are looked at also.

That makes me feel a lot better, since I have no clue what my interviewer thought of me. :) Thanks for sharing.

As for the battle over shared interview info, my essay question was the same one that was used in a previous semester. It's even posted on that semester's thread. The information is already out there and I don't see a problem with repeating it. Relax.

Well, then UTHSC needs to hear about it. If you've interviewed already, you would have noticed how careful the staff was in ensuring that nobody turned over their packets until they directed you too. Obviously they are aiming for some degree of surprise. Otherwise, why wouldn't they have you submit an essay along with an application?

Regardless, nobody knew for sure what the exact essay was. Now, this gives applicants the option to specifically prepare for this essay. I find that unfair.

What do you think they will do about it? I am serious. What do you think will happen when you tell them you know of people sharing essay topics.

Do you think they will set up a gestapo task force and kick down my friends door who was admitted in Fall 09, because she told me. :p Let everyone who has already interviewed get a redo?

edited by me *Just relax.

It is a tool to evaluate thinking styles and how you organize and act with data. There is no right or wrong answer.

I am sorry If you think it is unfair, but it is what it is. You can not control what others do as well as impose your sense of fairness on them. I understand you want this, we ALL do. That is why we all sought out this forum to begin with. To find answers.

Just relax, Im sure you did fine, just believe in your ability.

Oh right---so, because I find this unfair must mean that I have extreme self-esteem/security issues. I definitely don't see the logic. Some members live in this la-la land of "we'll all make it in, then, eat chocolate ice cream together, marry, get pregnant at the same time, and our children will be best friends." Unfortunately, that's not realistic.

Apriljoy and others, when it's between you and another applicant with the exact same stats, and they look at your essays as the final factor, it's doubtful you'll hold the same opinion.

I started a new thread UT Houston BSN Generic applicants for fall 2010. I was just hoping maybe people that want to be positive and not bicker could join in. So no one is force to provide specific information or feel critized for not sharing EVERYTHING about your interview. I was hoping we could just be supportive and share stuff like: Has your status been updated yet? did your interview go well? good luck and so forth. I am just tired of everyone on here being so mean.

I have zero desire to get into it with a stranger from the internet, lol. Report it. I am not trying to stop you. Good luck.

What do you think they will do about it?

You seem a bit irrational, calm down.

What do I think they will do about it? Only one way to find out...

I seem a bit irrational? My dear, you're one of those living in the la-la land I was speaking of...

I have zero desire to get into it with a stranger from the internet, lol. Report it. I am not trying to stop you. Good luck.

 Sniffles...

To be fair, you were the one to call me out first, so you already "got into it" with a stranger on the internetz. Have a good night, and good luck also.

Peas and carrots,

Juniper

are you guys 100% sure its 150? i know they admit only 80 ppl, this semester its an extra 50... so that means only 130...
