Hello Future Nurses,
Wanted to know if anyone was preparing to take the Hesi a2, and or applying to UT Houston before the Jan. 15, 2014 deadline for Fall 2014???? I would like to form a study forum!!
I have received a course evaluation (and applied for Fall 2014). All it shows is which courses you took that count for pre-reqs, what your GPAs for pre-reqs, undergrad and science are and if you have any outstanding courses (which sounds like a good thing, but I mean courses you still have to take). I discovered they aren't taking my Credit By Exam for a History Class so hopefully I get in and will take a quick summer course at HCC.
Which history course did you take a credit by exam? UTHealth takes credit by exam including AP exams and CLEP exams. If they aren't accepting it then you should call them and have them correct it because from the information session that I went to, they said they take all credit by exams as long as it's on a transcript. UTHealth is known for messing up transcript evals so you'd have to call them for any corrections.
Still waiting to hear if I got in. But I did get a transcript eval, so if it's helpful here are my stats:
Applied: Jan 3, for Fall 2014
Previous Degree GPA: 3.6
Science GPA: 3.6
Pre-req GPA: 3.6 (At least they'll know I'm consistent!:)
HESI: 93, Critical Thinking 890
(English: 95, Science: 95, Math: 84)
Learning Style: Kinesthetic Global
Personality Style: Creative/Leader
And I have a year's experience working with a midwife as an apprentice.
FYI, I received an email earlier today stating that Texas A&M Corpus Christi has reopened their Summer 2014 Bachelor of Science in Nursing deadlines for the Generic Summer 2014 Online track until March 21, 2014.
For qualifications and minimum eligibility requirements, please visit the application checklist here: http://nursing.tamucc.edu//assets/pre-nurse_app_check.pdf
Always good to have a back up plan!
