I know its a bit early to start this forum seeing as the deadline is September 1; however, I wanted to have a place to communicate with all the people applying for the spring semester. we might be able to help each other out with information about deadlines, application status, plus its also nice to talk with people going through the same thing as you. I'll just start by introducing myself.
My name is Edera,
I am currently a senior in High School. I will be graduating High School with my Associate's degree, thanks to the dual credit classes I have been taking. When I finish High School I will have 40 of the 60 credit hours completed. I will be taking Chemistry, Microbiology, and Growth & Development in the Summer, and then Intro to Sociology, Statistics, and Nutrition in the Fall. I have yet to take my Hesi, I plan on taking it in June or August. I plan on starting the application this week.
Hope to see many of you here, so that we are able to help out one another. Good Luck everyone!!
I thought we heard back in like mid november?
That's just my own prediction based on what I read on past threads. Every other term seemed to find out around Oct 20something. Last year it was a little later, but I think it might have been affected by Harvey. Typically the first acceptances seem to go out late October, and then waitlisted people might be be accepted during the period of time after that, by November 15. I could be totally wrong; it's my own speculation.

sounds pretty legit to me
Yes, I was thinking something similar. Sounds a bit Hunger Games, though lolI guess we'll find out in a few weeks. I think we'll start to find out on either 10/18 or 10/25, because in most of the other sessions, the acceptances began going out on a Thursday afternoon.
It's funny you made the hunger games comment because I said the same thing to my husband. Lol

I noticed this same trend also, that usually toward the end of October decisions began trickling out. I'm hoping it holds true this year also & we're not forced to wait all the way till November 15.
Ughhh.. so I finally received my transcript. UT won't accept any of my nutrition courses even though I have a Bachelor of Science in NUTRITION!!!! Ughh soo annoying. So I'm going to have to take a late start course online at lone star this month to fulfill that pre requisite.
Ugh that's annoying! I had the same thing happen. One of my previous degrees was in Psychology, and nearly none of my coursework transferred over. The other school I applied to looked over my previous coursework, syllabus, and CLEP scores and got the dean to approve my credit. No such luck with UTH lol. I knew they wouldn't take anything other than what they explicitly state would transfer, so I took CLEP tests or retook courses.
Maybe you can do a 3 week mini course even.

Oh man, that's rough. Mine is only one class I couldn't imagine having to take multiple ones! I'm just ready to start taking real nursing classes already! And yeah I'm going to see if I can take a wintermester class so it's as short as possible

Yes, another class I had to retake was Statistics, which I had to take for my Psychology degree AND my Business degree. The reason no schools would take it is bc I was in the honors program at my undergrad school, and the title was called Honors Statistics or something. :/
It didn't help that the school was in California, so there isn't an established equivalency system for course credits.

I actually took the winter minimester in Spring 2018 to get my nutrition requirement out of the way. That was at Lone Star college. It was an online class that lasted three weeks. It was not bad at all! I would totally recommend it.
Happy October 1st everybody, it's been one month since application deadlines already!
That means we only have a month and a half at most for decisions to come out, lol. I am definitely hoping it'll be sooner, but I'm mentally preparing myself for the November 15th wait.
Everybody hanging in there?
