Yes, it is extremely early to begin talking about the Spring 2018 class, however, I thought it would be nice if we could all get together here and go through our pre-req/application/acceptance journey. It would be fun to lend support, chronicle our stresses and excitements and see how everything unfolds for us from now until the first day of class (assuming we get accepted).
I'll start:
I'm taking my pre-reqs at Lonestar (10 hrs for Spring, 14 hrs for Summer). I plan to take 18 hrs for Fall and will be testing out of 15 hrs via CLEP. I work PRN in a Critical Care unit at a major hospital. I will be taking the HESI in May; once Spring semester ends. Lastly, I have high hopes to be accepted into the Honors program once I am eligible to apply, since I have a deep interest in research.
I hope to hear from some of you! The application deadline is September 1 and there is a webinar info session at 10am tomorrow.
God bless.
Hi there! I am applying to the nursing program as well and I think I just had the most epic fail moment and I'm hoping it's not true since I just spent a ton of money to apply. The UTHealth website is all over the place in regards to information. I was under the impression that as long as I had 40 out the 60 prereq credits then I could apply with no issue. But as my luck would have it, there is the statement that " if admission is offered all prerequisite courses must be completed prior to the start of class." Based on that list of the sixty credits, I am missing one class. Texas flipping government. I got my BS in another state that doesn't have this crazy nationalistic sense of pride, so I wasn't required to take a state specific government class since I already complete the United States Government course.
I am definitely not in the financial position to take a class unless I know I get in the program. Does UTHealth offer winter courses/online courses for classes like this?
Additional question, elective prerequisites are five credits and must be college-level. I have a BS so I'm not worried about electives not being fulfilled, but what classes do they accept as electives? I have a degree in Animal Science so I'm going to laugh if things like animal reproduction or farm productivity are going to be accepted.
Yes you will need to complete Texas Governemnt prior to the start of the Spring Semester. I'm not sure but most likely you can find a local community college that has late Fall or Winter mini-semesters. Your best bet is to look at HCC, San Jac or another local colleges course catalog and see what they offer.
Hi! do yall know how to resend HESI scores to UTHealth if we've taken and sent them previously? I applied for fall2017 and got denied, so I'm reapplying for spring2018 using the same hesi score. But i'm having trouble on how to resend the scores?
There's no need to resend your scores if they already have them on file.

I talked to someone today and she stated I need to use internet explorer or Firefox to view my uth properly. My transcripts are there and have been reviewed so I'm sure yours have been reviewed as well.
Hello! I completed my application a couple days ago, so I wanted to share my stats.
Pre-req GPA: 4.0
Science GPA: 4.0
HESI:
Overall: 96
Reading: 94
Grammar: 98
Vocabulary: 96
Anatomy: 96
Math: 96
Despite my high GPA and test scores, I'm still very anxious and don't want to assume that I'll automatically be admitted because I've heard of others with similar stats that got denied. Hopefully, I'll be one of the lucky ones. Good luck to everybody else who's applying!
