UT Health Pacesetter BSN Fall 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I haven't seen a topic for the UT Health Fall 2018 program, so here it is!

I am applying for the fall with following stats:

Prereq GPA 3.65

Science GPA 4.00

HESI (just took it last Friday):

Reading 90

Vocab 92

Grammar 84

Math 96

AP 100

I am making a career shift with a BS in Chemistry that I got from UH Downtown.

Good luck everyone!

I saw someone mention something about ...thoughts on this program???

Is anyone else not able to log into the portal?? I've tried everything and it wont even let me reset my password.

I was considering Chamberlain as my back up plan as well but I never ended up applying because their application was really expensive and I applied to 4 other schools and was hoping to hear back soon from at least one of them. I honestly don't see a problem, a degree is a degree and it will get you jobs anywhere, especially nursing! I went to the Pearland campus and it is very beautiful and they have a small school so their education/academic advising is very concentrated and helpful. I think the only negative thing I would say is that is a longer program. Are they still accepting applications? Please let me know if you decide to apply!!! I still haven't heard back from the rest of the schools but I am desperate!

They are still accepting applications and if you have done all of the prerequisites for other programs it will only be 17 months. I called yesterday to get some information

Hey guys, I still haven't heard back. I am going to register to take the HESI again soon just in case I need to apply for the Spring. That was I can apply with a higher score on it because I think that is the only reason I would get denied. When registering for it, it gives me the option of HESI A2 V-1 and HESI A2 V-2, can someone explain to me what the difference between those are? Thank you!

You would need to take HESI A2 V-2 meaning this will be the second time you have taken the HESI!

Also I already reapplied do you guys know if I need to resubmit my Hesi results even if I didn't retake them??

No, since they've already got your transcript and your HESI scores, you just need to pay another application fee of $60. If they need anything, it's gonna shown on your to-do list item. Mine was just pop up as 2 different application, both were "under review" ......

I actually made an 89 on the HESI, but I think the reason I got accepted with a lower score than average is that I made that score before I had taken A&P 1 and 2. I then made As in both in the coming semesters. It is a super competitive program, but they seem to have a better system of accepting people that UTH. Also yes the application is a little confusing but not too bad. You have to send an application through NursingCAS which is a bulk of it. Then when the applyTexas app opens up all you have to do is send that in and it requires barley information because most of it is done through NursingCAS. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Is anyone else having problems logging into the portal??

Has anyone not gotten a final decision as in Accepted/Denied or waitlisted. Don't want to ask my friends if they have or haven't heard back if there are still open apps.

If anyone is still looking for a roommate let me know! I'm looking for apartments near the school.

i didn't apply for FALL 2018 but hoping to apply Spring 2019. I was waitlisted for Summer 2018 with these stats:

3.8 Science

3.8 Nursing Gpa

3.4 Overall Gpa (Failed some non-preq classes)

Hesi ( 91.6 - AP 96, Read 94, 92 Grammar, 90 Math, 86 Vocab)

Do you think retaking the hesi would help me get in for the spring or should I continue taking classes that I don't need to improve my overall gpa? Idk if i should just give up on UT and start prepping to take the TEAS. I would really appreciate yall's input. Good luck to those still waiting!
