UT Health Pacesetter BSN Fall 2018

Published

I haven't seen a topic for the UT Health Fall 2018 program, so here it is!

I am applying for the fall with following stats:

Prereq GPA 3.65

Science GPA 4.00

HESI (just took it last Friday):

Reading 90

Vocab 92

Grammar 84

Math 96

AP 100

I am making a career shift with a BS in Chemistry that I got from UH Downtown.

Good luck everyone!

Even though mine still say "under review", I have applied for the spring 2019 2 days ago, I hope that with this early application, we might get at least a transcript evaluation. It will be my last time applying to this school also, I probably start on my teas or just go straight to HBU since they've already let me in. So many choices out there and if we can't get in, we can't really blame ourselves, it's the lack of communication :) we can't really never know what are their criteria...

Just checked my portal and it switched to denied. My science GPA wasn't perfect, but I thought my HESI score and BS in Health from TAMU would get me waitlisted at the very least.

I'm not going to complain because I got into Texas A&M nursing, but I got denied from UTH. I had a 3.9 overall and 4.0 science gpa. I seriously think that UTH just pulls names out of a hat and thats who gets accepted.

Hey! First time posting on here but I have been watching it to see where I might stand. Unfortunately I got denied this was my second time applying. I also had some experience in the coast guard with minor medical experience. My stats where:

Overall GPA: 4.0

Science GPA: 4.0

Hesi: 85 with an 82 in AP......Grammar section brought my score down more than I hoped.

I wanted to see if anyone has looked into Chamberlain College and if they have heard any reasons why someone shouldn't apply their. Ive applied for other schools but to early to here back from some of them. I was leaving chamberlain as a fall back but I don't want to waste my time on the school if it isn't a decent school to go to? Just curious on peoples opinion about it.

The only reason I can think for being denied is it did take me a span of 3.5 years to finish all my prereqs but thats only because my schedule in the military wouldn't let me study like I needed to and finish everything in a shorter time

Would you mind sharing your HESI? I'm looking into applying to TAMU with my sad 87. lol! Also the application process looks complicated. If you could share your thoughts, I'd very much appreciate it.

I was denied too. Just saw the portal updated to "application denied." Here are my stats:

Overall GPA: 3.68

Nursing GPA: 4.0

Science GPA: 4.0

Hesi overall: 94.0 with a 96 in A&P.

I thought my stats were pretty strong but I guess not enough :/ I just sent my application in for the Spring but this is going to be my last try before I go somewhere else.

I was considering Chamberlain as my back up plan as well but I never ended up applying because their application was really expensive and I applied to 4 other schools and was hoping to hear back soon from at least one of them. I honestly don't see a problem, a degree is a degree and it will get you jobs anywhere, especially nursing! I went to the Pearland campus and it is very beautiful and they have a small school so their education/academic advising is very concentrated and helpful. I think the only negative thing I would say is that is a longer program. Are they still accepting applications? Please let me know if you decide to apply!!! I still haven't heard back from the rest of the schools but I am desperate!

For those who have been denied, are you all seeing it in the portal? Mine still says under review... I don't know if I should remain hopeful or stick with the idea that I won't be admitted. I am also sorry you all got denied!!

Mine updated this afternoon.. unfortunately I think they've sent out all acceptances and waitlist :/

Just sounds like you have "lived" as have most of us...it took me 8 years to get my 1st degree, but I did so while working full time as a single mom...the downside to the app process is not being able to tell your story. I think past years where they did an interview gave some that ability, and may have worked in their favor.

So I wouldn't let the fact that it took you 3.5 years to finish your prereqs be a deciding factor...there are many on this board with stellar scores all denied for one reason or another.

Time for those of us that didn't get in to pull ourselves up by the boot straps and start working on what we need to for the next application process. It will happen, might take another round or multiple applications at different places but we will ALL get there :)

Let's just hope the next time our name goes in the BINGO ball we get picked!

Yup, mine showed up in the portal yesterday with no email, or communication update with a formal letter...I'm sure that 's coming in the mail.
