UT Austin Alternate Entry 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Updated:   Published

Hey everyone! I did not see a post for applicants for Ut Austin's Alternate Entry MSN program for 2020, so I started one! I know the application just opened a few days ago but with all everyone balances, I figure why not start now? I am applying for their PMNHP specialty.

I just got offered an interview as well! I'm so excited ? I'm 21 years old and graduating with a BS in Healthcare Studies from UTD in two short weeks! I feel like I'm one of the younger applicants for sure... so I'm wondering if anyone knows what the age demographics are for this program.

Best of luck to everyone!

Congratulations on your interview invitation! I’m not sure of the ages, that hasn’t been shared. Just from the information session I went to, there was a good variety of us hopeful AE-MSN students. Some graduated recently, some 10 years ago, myself five years ago. It all varied.

I was wondering the same thing. I am in the same boat and I am definitely thinking that can't be good news...

Do you think they are going in alphabetical order? My last name starts with a "B" and I got the e-mail on Monday and have read others getting their e-mails yesterday/today. Not sure what their last names are from the screen names?

I mean, maybe? My last name starts with "G," so I doubt I would still be waiting if that was the case since I am not that far down. I am sure the e-mail is a canned e-mail, not personalized....no idea why it would take that long to send them out unless they are reviewing the applications and deciding as they are sending them out. No idea.

Mine starts with a B too. I am out of state, so if that’s a factor then there’s that.

My last name starts with “W” so I don’t think it’s alphabetical, but who knows. My interview is tomorrow - so nervous!!! Does anyone know what kind of questions to expect?

I wasn't sure, that was just my very uneducated guess? I wish we knew their process. My interview is tomorrow as well, at 10:30 a.m. I have prepared the basic interview questions, included why I chose LeaDS, what I plan to do with that, explaining a stressful situation and how I handled it, and why a MSN versus a BSN. I read on last year's forum from someone who interviewed and she shared that they asked how she planned on taking care of herself during the first foundational year, if she was prepared to not work at all during that year, and then several basic interview questions that you've probably been asked before.
