Hey everyone! I did not see a post for applicants for Ut Austin's Alternate Entry MSN program for 2020, so I started one! I know the application just opened a few days ago but with all everyone balances, I figure why not start now? I am applying for their PMNHP specialty.

I'm applying too! Just got done reading the UT AE-MSN 2019 board and I'm even more nervous now..... I have my heart set on PMHNP, but it looks like it's the most competitive one. Someone mentioned GRE/GPA are considered first, and you have to be top 40%. What are you guys applying for?
I'm PMHNP too and I honestly had a mini breakdown when I saw that on last year's forum because my GPA is not in the top 40% of applicants. I know it's because it's a popular specialty but it just seems unfair to cut out passionate people who may have had extenuating circumstances. Plenty of people with lower stats can turn out to be great practitioners, sometimes even better than certain people with higher ones. With that being said, I'm still going to apply and not be discouraged because I know this is what I want to do.

Agreed! And I had a mini breakdown too! I wished they looked at the whole picture before deciding. We can just hope to do our best and not give up! Even if we don't get accepted into PMHNP, hopefully we get accepted into LEADS and then can do the certificate for PMHNP. Longer road, but we can get there!
Yeah I was wondering if I should consider doing LEADS especially considering a lot of the curriculum is the exact same, at least until they go into the specialty. For most schools I would not consider making my journey longer, but I would definitely consider it for UT. It is my top choice along with Vanderbilt. So right there with you, keeping fingers crossed! We have to support each other through all this no matter what our specialty is, there's so few doing it. I'm going to keep faith and put positive energy out there.
Hello! Deadline quickly approaching and I'm having trouble uploading the prerequisites checklist. Every time I go to double check it, it is no longer filled with information but instead empty. Has anyone successfully uploaded theirs and willing to share what they did? Or just let me know what I'm doing wrong?

I just now saw that there is a 2020 thread! I'm applying for LeaDS, good luck to all applicants!
Lauryn, did you fill it out by hand and scan it? That was how I did it last year. If you filled it out electronically, maybe there's something that needs to be done to the file to keep it from getting stripped out, like "File > export" or "save as" something that's just an image. Hard to say but I hope it gets worked out for you!

Hi all,
I have read through the 2018 and previous year applicant forums for the AE-MSN program and am excited to finally join in! I have applied for the LeaDs program at UT-Austin and looking forward to staying updated together. Good luck to everyone!
Best Regards,
Kimberly
Does anyone know when references are due to complete their portion? I did not see a due date.
It's all supposed to be done by the same date of Oct 1st. Once they completed it, it showed up as such on the login info they gave you to check on the status of your application.
