UT Austin Alternate Entry 2020

Hey everyone! I did not see a post for applicants for Ut Austin's Alternate Entry MSN program for 2020, so I started one! I know the application just opened a few days ago but with all everyone balances, I figure why not start now? I am applying for their PMNHP specialty.

I don't remember if you already shared which program you applied and interviewed for, I'm sorry. Which one and how do you feel the the interview went?

My interview was for the LeaDs program and I think, it went well. I'm not sure if they are satisfied with my response or if I did as per their expectations. So, I am very much bothered about the final decision. I have my last prerequisite in progress which might be finishing up by next month. I am concerned if that might affect my application.

Yes, I have seen the email. The waiting for final decision is really making me feel anxious. Hope, we all hear a positive decision soon!!

What bothers you about the final decision? And don’t worry about finishing up your last prerequisite, I know several that are completing those this semester as well. You have to have 5 out of 7 done by December 31, 2019. Tracy sent an e-mail (I’m sure you saw) of which 5 needed to be completed by then. Which class are you taking now?

I am taking pharmacology through straighterline. As you said, I'm hoping for the best to happen. Wishing everyone best as well.

That’s one of the pre-reqs that can be taken this Spring, so no need to worry if that will affect your application! Wishing you the best, too!

Hey guys!

I received a letter from Texas BON saying I'm good to go with my background check but I didn't receive a blue card with it. Does anyone know if we actually receive a blue card in the mail or is that letter It?

I received a blue card a few weeks ago, but not a letter. I’ll check the mail today and see if a letter came as well.

do you know how long it takes to do the straighterline course? when I looked it up it said it should take 17-20 hours per week, but if we did the entire course in a month? is the class a go at your own pace type of thing?

As per the live chat I had with straighterline, they said that students were able to complete a course with a minimum of one month and yes, it depends on how much time we spend on it. And the course do have etextbook, presentations, which have to be learned and would definitely take sometime. I haven't taken any tests for the course yet as I just got started with it.

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if there will be any formalities which has to be done in person after the admission decision come. Or, is it required to be in the country until May 2020? I'm planning to go to visit my family which is out of country. I'm just checking if it will be okay to go out of state or country for few months. Please share if anyone have any experience or information about it. Thank you.
