Hey everyone! I haven't seen a new thread for people applying to UT Austin's 2019 AE-MSN program, so I figured I'd start one :) I haven't had any correspondence from the school since submitting final material on October 1st. Anyone hear anything back from the school yet??

I am already looking for plan B....I really hope I get in, but it is a long time to wait to potentially hear a no.....Anyone else stressing out already??
Hi there! Of course, stressed since even embarking on this journey. At the information session I went to, I understood a lot goes into the decision-making process, than just GPA and other quantitative factors. Those factors are just as important as what is said in the Statement of Purpose, references, interview, etc., Easier than done, but I hope your nerves ease as time passes!
Yeah, I accidentally put 2019. I meant 2020. How do I find the 2020 thread? I am new here lol
You are absolutely right about freaking out doing more harm than good. I just read the previous thread for the first time this morning and before then I wasn't freaking out. I am giving myself today to have a moment and then I will move forward. LOL. I just feel like I should make another plan just in case....

It is a lot of effort to go through to hear a no and I think that possibility is definitely stressful. I had to take the GRE after not doing math for over 15 years....that was so rough. I really hope that they have a more comprehensive review process. At least the application process is behind us. Now we wait. Hopefully we can all help each other to get through the long wait.
They do! I had a GRE score below 300, My GPA was below a 3.7 and I was still given an interview. They look at everything thoroughly; and ultimately, if they have a competitive class applying and you selected one of the tougher routes, (PMNH or AG) youll be given a choice to interview for the leadership route, or be considered for that one (what happened in my case); told them no and I was denied. good luck! i need to turn off my notifications. I keep getting yall's responses. Just go to schools on this website and type in UT/AEMSN 2020 or something along those lines.

I completely agree, I was telling my husband the same thing yesterday and it’s hard to imagine what you’d do if you do hear a “no” because you’re so hopeful for a “yes.” I’m primarily interested in the AE-MSN, which UT is the only program in Texas, I didn’t want to consider a BSN as the MSN is where I want to work in lifelong. I have read on previous forums that individuals received e-mails In November to schedule interviews in December. So that’s the next thing to hopefully look forward to.

I totally agree! I am applying to other schools so as you said I technically have other options in mind. As @joeyagarza said you can type UT alternate entry 2020 in the search bar and it should come up. Otherwise it will probably also be listed under schools if you search that way. Actually here is the link,
I hope that worked. I got a horrible quant score on the GRE (I was never that great at math and it's been some years for me as well). Hearing @KB417 say they try to be comprehensive is a little encouraging. That cutting off people who are not in the top 40% from 2019 forum is still on my mind though, not gonna lie.... Especially given the time and money we put into these applications. Still love the fact that this forum is here so we can support one another. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get antsy around Thanksgiving to see if they start sending out interview invites like they did last year.
Does anyone who applied last year happen to know what the odds are of getting accepted into the LeaDS program if we applied for PMHNP and were deferred to LeaDS? I assume that’s not a guarantee, but if we wouldn’t have qualified for LeaDS I’m guessing we would have just been cut completely instead of deferred??? Thanks!
Hi I was waitlisted for PMHNP and asked if I wanted to apply for LeaDs and I was accepted into LeaDs (never came off the PMHNP waitlist) if you are deferred to LeaDs you have a strong chance at getting accepted and even if you are waitlisted for LeaDs you have a good chance of coming off the waitlist because they have a lot of people who do not accept admittance. If you are waitlisted for PMHNP it is very uncommon to come off the waitlist from what I have gathered but I’m sure it does happen but most people accept their spot if offered one in that program. Hope that helps and good luck to everyone! My cohort is just coming to the end of Fall semester and we can’t wait for the holiday break!!!

Hi Angela! How is the first year going so far?
@KB417 it’s going well! It is actually less work and less intense than I thought it would be but I think everyone looks at it differently. I guess I built it up in my head to be so intense and while it is fast paced it is manageable for sure. The staff for the most part is super nice and supportive so that is great as well. Literally every professor gives you there personal cell phone number and encourages us to text anytime we need something. I think the best part about the program is definitely the people who I’m in the program with they are such an amazing group of people and I feel so lucky we have the cohort we do! I’m sure you all will have an amazing cohort as well. Good luck and feel free to ask any questions you have, I remember being so stressed this time last year but you guys will be great!

Oh wait, do you mean you applied for the program starting in 2020? If so, there is a thread for 2020 specifically. As for freaking out, yeah I already did that after obsessively going through the 2018/2019 thread. However, I have decided that freaking out is not going to make the decision come any faster. Plus I don't want put out that energy that I definitely will not get in, I know I would be a worthy addition and stranger things have happened ??♀️ . I definitely have to be intentional about not stressing though, it is a struggle bus!
