UT AE-MSN 2018

U.S.A. Texas

Hello, all!

This might be super early but I wanted to go ahead and start a 2018 thread. :cat:

I'm currently finishing up my last semester for my Bachelors degree in Spanish & Psychology at UT Arlington, I take the GRE on December 22nd. Any other future applicants out there? Or anyone have any advice as far as the application process? Not sure if I'd rather apply for LeaDs or PMHNP yet.

Anyone else applying for the psych program not heard anything? I feel like a sitting duck

They scheduled me for December 12!

hey dmariepsych! I have a 3.3 cumulative gpa for undergrad, 4.0 for prereqs, and second-class honors degree for my master's degree. I worked for a year in a rehab clinic and have significant volunteer experience both in the US and abroad. All three of my references were from a medical or medical research field.

I got an email today about updating my pre-reqs since I'm still in the process of taking them, guess that's why I haven't gotten a definite answer. Anyone else get this email? I can see the light at the end of the tunnel lol

I think that was a default email to everyone because I have all my pre-reqs, except 1, completed.

Heads up, I got my interview invitation for LeaDs just 6 min ago! Good luck to you all!!

I received an email for my interview for LeaDS at 9:40pm yesterday!!! Good luck everyone!

I haven't heard anything yet for LeaDs. Maybe today?

Received an interview request for PMHNP

Congrats!

Any ideas for what the written portion of the interview will cover? I looked on the threads from previous years but couldn't find anything especially helpful.

Is the Leads interview a group interview?

So I had my LeaDS interview today. It was with Professor Lin. She is extremely friendly and made the interview easy-going! It took about 20 - 30 minutes. Here are the questions she asked.

Tell me about yourself.

What are your career goals/where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Why do you want to be a nurse?

What do you think about when you think of a graduate/advanced practice nurse?

Tell me about a stressful situation and how you handled it

Tell me about a difficult situation with a client/coworker/supervisor and how you handled it

How do you plan on taking care of yourself in the midst of the stress throughout the program?

How do you plan on handling not being able to work for 12 months?

I hope this helps and good luck to all!

Congrats!

Hi, there...last year we were given an article on an ethical issue regarding prescription medication and children. I don't remember if we were given a list of questions or just asked to give a free response. You should have no problem giving an informed response if you have been invited to the interview portion.
