UT AE-MSN 2018

Published

Hello, all!

This might be super early but I wanted to go ahead and start a 2018 thread. :cat:

I'm currently finishing up my last semester for my Bachelors degree in Spanish & Psychology at UT Arlington, I take the GRE on December 22nd. Any other future applicants out there? Or anyone have any advice as far as the application process? Not sure if I'd rather apply for LeaDs or PMHNP yet.

Hey guys!

Just wanted to say I had my interview a couple days ago. The interview was very low-key and relaxed. They asked really standard interview questions. It was with 2 professors and lasted about 30min. They said decisions wouldn't be out until February. I'm hoping that is worse case scenario because that seems so far away.

Apparently Tracy is out until Jan 2. Who should I contact now if I have a question?

Has anyone taken/plan to take Pharmacology in Texas? If so what college?

Hi Favourduku1, I just finished Pharmacology at Austin Community College (HPRS 2300). You can take it online or in person. You have to take the exams at an ACC test center, but you could ask if there is a way to take them at a different test center. I took Dr. Espinosa's online course and it was good - lots of video lectures and the tests matched up with the study guides. I hear that Dr. Green is good too. Spring registration is open now, so if you're interested you should sign up asap.

Speaking of pre-reqs, was anybody told that their pre-reqs didn't qualify or that they were too old? I haven't heard back about any of mine but I want to make sure that I have everything in order/can register for qualifying ones just in case I need to.

Thanks for the help!

I submitted a transfer credit evaluation becaue my classes were out of state. That how I found of one of mine had expired.

I only have one prerequisite left, Pathophysiology.

I hope I'm not missing something, because the prerequisites I see listed for the AE-MSN program didn't include Patho... just Pharmacology? https://nursing.utexas.edu/docs/academics/grad/ae_prerequisites.pdf

I just finished the pre-reqs last semester and got them approved for my application. Patho is not required.

I meant Pharmacology

Hi enthez,

Four of my courses were expired. Prior to applying I sent my undergrad and graduate transcripts to Tracy to evaluate, but the website tells you which classes need to be up-to-date and it's all the sciences. Essentially I ended up retaking all of my pre-reqs (yay!) since they expired. You can always contact Tracy and if you're in a pinch with registration, you can always do straighterline (I had to with one course).

Thanks ACR 22. I was just worried because one of my pre-reqs was on the cusp of expiring, but I asked Tracy and they're still good.

As a side note, I am so anxious waiting for decisions to come out!! Last year saw decisions around Jan 31 but two weeks is SO FAR. D:
