Hello, all!

This might be super early but I wanted to go ahead and start a 2018 thread. :cat:

I'm currently finishing up my last semester for my Bachelors degree in Spanish & Psychology at UT Arlington, I take the GRE on December 22nd. Any other future applicants out there? Or anyone have any advice as far as the application process? Not sure if I'd rather apply for LeaDs or PMHNP yet.

Hi! Lol it's better to be early than late. UT Austin is my first choice for AE MSN programs. I'm applying to both ABSN and AE MSN programs but will definitely go the MSN route if I'm accepted. I'm going out on a limb and applying for the PMHNP program. I know they accept approximately 2.5 students every year but it's my dream job, so I figure why not? (hence my username)

I've read threads for previous years and it looks like if they like you enough (but you've been denied for PMHNP) they'll offer you a position in LeaDs. I asked Tracy how long it would take to get to a PMHNP after leads and she said only one year. 3 years vs. 4 years isn't too big of a difference.

I'm a Psychology and Criminology major from the University of South Florida. I graduated last May (2016.) I've been really nervous about my stats. Haven't taken the GRE yet (will be taking it in July) but I've been test-prepping nonstop. 4.0s in my pre-reqs so far, but my upper-division GPA is a 3.47 and I really hope that doesn't tank me. I'm also applying to Columbia, Vanderbilt, and UCSF.

So, yes. Future applicant here!

Hello!

I agree that it's better to be early than late. I've been wanting to apply to this program for a few years now. My BS will be completed in December of this year. I currently have a 3.8 overall GPA and a 4.0 prerequisite GPA. I'm prior service Army and worked as a medic/healthcare specialist. I loved every second of it. Being a nurse is my dream. I'm going to apply to the PMHNP track. I still have to take the GRE but I hope to take it at some point during the summer. I was stationed at Fort Hood when I was in the Army and absolutely love Texas. The Austin area is wonderful. I'm thinking of applying to the University of Hawaii program and the University of Seattle program as well. UT Austin is my first choice though because my husband's family lives an hour outside of Austin. I have one prerequisite left (pharmacology) but hope to keep the 4.0 prereq GPA. How did your GRE test in December go? Hopefully you rocked it! I'm a little nervous about it because I am not a major fan of chemistry but I think I'll manage. Good luck to you both!

So, I submitted my application! It's officially begun...! Such nervous energy.

Where else is everyone applying?

Congrats on submitting it! I'm waiting to submit mine until I take the GRE (on the 16th). I don't feel prepared for it so I'm hoping I do better than I think I will. Originally, I was going to apply in Hawaii and at the University of Seattle but my husband is active duty military and he won't be going to either of those states. We'd like to stay as close together as possible! So for right now, I'm applying to the University of San Francisco and UT Austin. What about you? I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get in to your school of choice!

I've been studying for the GRE for months and still don't feel prepared. I just feel like they can throw anything at you. It's unnerving. Don't worry about it too much! That's what I've heard from people who have already taken it.

I'm applying to UT Austin, Columbia, MGH Institute of Health Professions, and Vanderbilt. I'm also applying to the University of Florida's ABSN program. Just in case.

Hey guys! I applied pretty late last year and didn't get in but im reapplying this year, I was hoping yall had suggestions as to what other programs to apply to? Inside or outside of Texas

Hi! I'm only applying to PMHNP tracks, but I'm applying to U.T. Austin, Columbia, Vanderbilt, and the MGH Institute of Health Professions. As a back-up, since I live in Florida, I'm applying to the University of Florida ABSN program.

Hi! I'm applying to the AG CNS track. Looks like this year's thread is off to a slow start - hope more people join soon and get this discussion going. You all probably have the email from Tracy with the key dates:

Oct. 2-18 - Prereview - this review determines if you have met all the admission requirements and your application is complete. If all documents are not present in your file your application will be cancelled

Oct. 19 - Nov 3 Department review

Nov. 6 through the first of January - interviews

Late January early February early decisions released.

Good luck to all!

Good luck, dmarie!
