UT AE-MSN 2016

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi all -

Just wondering who else is applying for the AE-MSN program at the University of Texas at Austin. I am applying to the psych NP track and super nervous about it! I know previous applicants did not hear back about interviews until early December and decisions until early February.

Will you be switching to LeaDs?

I've already been admitted someplace else, so I wouldn't be going to this school anyway.....but if I hadn't already been accepted elsewhere, I would, yes.

Yeah, that's probably the smart thing to do. I wish they would flat out say "You are no longer considered for the FPMHNP track, but we would like to offer an alternative program for your consideration" instead. That way I wouldn't be holding out what very little hope I have left for the NP program. It just seems unnecessary (and cruel!?) for them to offer us a choice between FPMHNP and LeaDs if we've already been weeded out of the first one. Sigh.

All things considered, I will most likely switch to LeaDs.

Now I'm curious how many people applied to Leads versus how many spots they have available. I don't think they would offer to accept more Leads applicants if they were in the same position as with Psych NP where they have "too many qualified applicants".

I'm also curious if anyone else is still working on the course pre-requisites?

It seems like they probably have a harder time filling up spots for LeaDs, which makes since because its a brand new program and theres very little info about it on the website. I think people asked to switch over have a really good chance of getting into LeaDs.

Ah sorry for the lag on this! As you probably heard from the program yourself, Mid-October was when they sent out the timeline of events, like when to expect to hear about interviews, and when final decisions should be expected to happen.

Good luck everyone!!

Just got my interview request today!!!!! I applied to the LeaDs program directly, mostly because for my previous bachelors, I went to a university that required you pick your specialty when applying, and clearly we all see how well that turned out....

Plus, I like the idea that I can work for a time and really be able to choose what I want to do and have a slightly shorter time when going for my NP.

Hoping everyone else also gets emailed soon!!

Duplicate post. Disregard!

Wow congrats! Thats exciting! Has anyone applying for FMHNP heard back for an interview yet?

I applied for FPMHNP and didn't get the email saying I could apply to Leads and I haven't heard about an interview. I'm having a hard time thinking about anything else right now. I want to know!

Has only one person been invited for an interview so far?? This thread is so quiet compared to last years! I'm starting to get nervous
