UT AE-MSN 2016

Published

Hi all -

Just wondering who else is applying for the AE-MSN program at the University of Texas at Austin. I am applying to the psych NP track and super nervous about it! I know previous applicants did not hear back about interviews until early December and decisions until early February.

Slashdot - I'm waaaay out of state, so they're totally happy to accommodate if you explain the situation! Maybe offer to do a skype interview? I know that was an option for me.

atx0306 - Where did you see that information re: the aspects of the interview this year? Was it in the email from Tracy from earlier?

It was in the email I got requesting an interview, at the bottom. Im sure the process is different for each specialty though.

I am a CNS applicant, I received an interview request this week and signed up for my slot. I have one more pre-req to complete as well.

atx0306 - I did not see anything like that in my email, it must differ by specialty. Mine just had the dates that were available and a document to sign up for a slot.

Are all of the interviews scheduled during the same time frame? Mine is scheduled this week!

I also received an interview for LeaDs which will be 30 min to 1 hour long. The interviewer hinted it will be mostly about getting to know my interests, and what program fits the best for me.

Any tips regarding the interview?

I was originally in the FPMHNP program but switched to LeaDs, so I am not sure if I should "tailor" my answers specifically targeted to the LeaDs program, or to the overall general nursing field? I can find many ways to relate mental health to the LeaDs program and how it can fit my long term goals, but that's all I have!

Thanks and best of luck to everyone :)

Interviews this week already? Good luck!!! PMHNP was only given the options of Dec. 4th or the 8th.

atx0306, when do you interview? I'll be there the fourth!

i'll be there the 4th as well, in the morning!

I will also be there on the 4th in the morning! See y'all next week!

Hey atx0306 and slashdot,

Do y'all have any info on what the writing component of our interview will be? I asked about it when I responded to my interview request but never heard anything back.

I'm coming prepared to write something although I have no idea what...

Emb,

I thought about asking too but I figured they wouldn't want to tip us off. I am thinking there will be a prompt, maybe on ethics or an issue in healthcare we are passionate about. But I could just be imagining worst-case scenario. Isn't this the first year they've implemented the writing portion? Love being the guinea pigs!
