UT AE-MSN 2016

Published

Hi all -

Just wondering who else is applying for the AE-MSN program at the University of Texas at Austin. I am applying to the psych NP track and super nervous about it! I know previous applicants did not hear back about interviews until early December and decisions until early February.

Got the email to schedule my leads interview last night. Mine is on Monday. Anyone else schedule theirs?

So I finally received my interview email last week and have my interview this Friday for Leads. I'm pretty nervous, although I'm mostly worried about what to wear. I don't know if wearing a full suit is too formal for this type of interview, or if I'll be fine with a shirt and tie combo. It would be nice to say hello to anyone on this board who is there at the same time.

I'll be there at 9am Friday and am hoping to meet some of y'all! FPMHNP interview has a group info session portion so I except there will be the morning interviewees at least. I'm also unsure what to wear, but I'm a lady so my options are a little different! I would always rather be over dressed than under dressed. If you wear a suit coat, you have the option to take it off if you don't feel comfortable.

I'm getting excited. I've only been waiting for this interview for months!

I had my CNS interview last Wednesday. The people doing the interview were really nice! Judging from the email to sign up for time slots, I'm guessing the AGCNS interviews are all done...so now it's on to the other tracks.

I wore black pants, a blouse and a cardigan and I felt like I was dressed appropriately, but I would say to dress in a way that makes you feel confident and comfortable at the same time.

Good Luck everyone! :)

Does anyone know the number of spots they are looking to fill? Is it going to be the same as last year with the 8-NP, 16-CNS, and 40-leads?

jmt9223: I think so. That's what I gathered from the LeaDs Q&A session with Dr. Taxis and Tracy.

I had my interview for AG-CNS earlier this week. I feel like it went alright, some of my answers could have been better, but you always seem to think of better answers once you leave lol. My interviewers were very friendly however and seemed interested and engaged throughout the process.

I wore business casual (slacks, nice blouse, blazer and heels). I feel like it's always better to be over-dressed than under.

Now it's just a waiting game for me until February, which feels so far away lol

Mjx- did the interviewers say anything about when they thought they would send out the acceptance letters? I meant to ask when I was there last week but forgot to.

I really hope they do it before February... That seems so far away!

Kuri: No they didn't mention a specific date, they just said February some time.

Man... February seems like a lifetime away. Fingers crossed that time goes by quickly! The anticipation is killing me, and it's not even January yet!

I just got back from my interview for the LeaDS track.

My experience was much like other folks': the interview was very laid-back and comfortable, and my interviewer was very nice. We interviewed for about an hour.

The questions were pretty standard. There were a lot of "job interview"-esque questions, so my advice for folks would be to bone up on the "What is your greatest strength/weakness?" type of inquiry.

I wore a nice blouse, a pencil skirt, and heels, and I felt perfectly dressed for the occasion.

Good luck to everyone who has yet to interview! ^_^

Can any of the Leads interviewees tell me any specific questions they asked? Do they ask you any questions on why you chose the Leads track specifically? Do they ask you about any details from your application, coursework, etc?
