USF spring 2011 BSN

Hey all.

Just thought I would start a thread for USF nursing program-BSN for spring 2011 to see when people start hearing back and what not! Wishing everyone luck!:)

I havnt heard anything yet either. : ( I wish they would email so I could make some decisions!

Ya I no I agree. SJ isn't that far but by the time you fight traffic and find parking you would have to wake up 2 hours before your class I feel. That is exactly what I said to, I could be using that time studying haha (shows that we are majoring in the right thing if that is how we think about it) I don't no what I am doing yet. I contacted some people I know at USF to see if they knew anyone that needed a roommate but I might just live on campus (in the apartment style) but I am still debating. It is stressful because it is so soon. I mean I realized I applied for spring but it is just overwhelming. Christmas time, finals, and trying to find a place to live...no pressure!

I hope you guys hear soon though, with good news! :)

So, I called admissions today and they told me some of us will not hear back until Christmas???????????!!!!!!!!!!! I am seriously annoyed....when i called in November they told me I would know by the first week in December!!!!!!!!!!!! Did anybody else get this answer? I gave them my ID number and they told me that my application was complete but still under review with a lot of other applications... she said "it's not a no." I applied on Sept. 7th so now Im wondering how many people apply to this school? Are there any other out of state applicants out there like me that are feeling completely overwhelmed by this????????

Hello. Today is Thursday Nov.9, and I called USF to make a follow up RE: BSN Spring 2011. They told me the same thing. Just exactly what you said. Around Christmas time or beofre that. The guy also told me that my application is complete and they continue to review the rest of the applicants. I hope that we'll get in this Spring. You know what... let's not worry too much. We can pray for each other. " Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways aknowledge Him and He will direct your path."

It's sort of a relief knowing I'm not the only one having to wait so long. Did you already fulfill your prereqs? I have all of the core complete and am wondering if that is why I am a maybe right now. I only have clinicals left, basically. For the people who are already accepted, what is the deadline for the tuition to be sent?

Hey I am still waiting for my results and still no word yet. I remember they told me mid-December and when I emailed them a couple of days ago they sent me this.

"You will be receiving a decision letter in the next couple of weeks. You will be notified by regular mail"

So probably like you said Christmas time that is a long day dang. Hopefully we get in and that can we our Christmas present and I'm good. But still a long time and short time notice on moving and everything. I am still in the progress of microbiology right now when I applied. Just have to keep waiting then. shucks.

Hey! My deadline for intent to enroll (with check) is due on December 15th (next Wednesday). I am submitting mine Monday though. I am visiting a girl I know from high school who lives in the on-campus apartments (non-nursing major) to see if I like them or if I should do off-campus. I am not sure yet. But you have to say whether or not you want on-campus with the intent to enroll form.

I have physio in progress right now. And I have one general education requirement left, as far as IGETC (uc/csu GE) is concerned. But I know USF is different with GE. You have to taken some classes through them.

Hope you guys hear back soon. At least before Christmas. Good luck. If you guys get in (which you will:)) we should stay in contact. I assume we will be taking the same or similar classes, so it is probably inevitable. haha

This is my last semester for all the Core courses available at the Community College. Based on the BSN program orientation, if you're a transfer, they still require an additional (1) English course, and a repeat of Nutrition class. Whether your grade is A or C, all transfer students need to take Nutrition class from USF. I hope I'm not mistaken here. Anyway, just want to say hello to everybody. I'm checking both my mail and e-mail everyday for the GOOD news.

Hi smarie7! congratulations on your acceptance! I got into Spring 2011 for the BSN program too! I was wondering though, have you talked to them about the 8 semester program? I went to an information meeting and someone told me we'd be starting as a 3rd semester there. So as a transfer, it should only leave us 6 semesters left. My acceptance letter says 8 semesters too :(

Ya I went to an info session too early this year and they said 6 semesters. I guess it is a 6 semester program technically because we wouldn't start the program/clinical rotation till spring 2012. They must have not had enough room in the 2011 clinical. I am not sure. Are you going to go to USF for sure?!

I'm 90% sure I'm going! My problem now is financial aid :( How about you!? USF has been my DREAM school!

Same here. It is my dream but it is so expensive. How do you find out how and if you got it? Can you find out before you submit your intent to enroll? because in the self service thing it wouldn't let me do it until i submit it. I figure i will have a lot of loans to pay off. But it is worth it for my first choice school i think and i will hopefully walk right into a job out of college.
