Hey all.
Just thought I would start a thread for USF nursing program-BSN for spring 2011 to see when people start hearing back and what not! Wishing everyone luck!:)
12 units is considered full time
having 12-18 units = a semester flat rate of $18,520
anything under full time (11 units and under) will cost $1,315 a unit
anything over 18 units will cost an extra $1,315 each unit
i calculated to be about $20k a semester for tuition (inc books, supplies etc.)
so multiply that by six semesters minimum, u get a grand total of 120k
since im taking an extra part time semester for fall 2011 to get my Rhet 250 done and w/e class i may need... its gonna cost me about 135k from what i gathered.
Dchow, i am doing the exact same thing as u this semester, im taking 4 core classes at a community college and just taking the nurse 120 at USF
Cailee, i got my info from usf counselor Mark Prielo (however u spell it)
-anyone know what the going rate is for a kidney? i have an extra one and need to pay for school :0
LOL @ Josh. Oh mann, this is all so costly :\ Sorry, I looked at the tuition wrong, here's the website: University of San Francisco (USF) - Tuition and Fees Schedule for Academic Year 2010-11

Hey Caileeg89! Do you still need a roommate? I applied for housing yesterday and would really like to live with a nursing student! The only available housing was Loyola Village, I picked double room. I did not want to live there bc it is outrageous expensive but really had no choice bc Im out of state and dont know anything about the area! Plus i really want to be close to campus! ( selling my car : ( ) Let me know if youre interested! Once you apply for housing you can select a roommate you know or pick a random one. My facebook is Paige Hanna, if you search by email paigehanna87@gmail youll be able to find me!
Everyone, dchow, Lau_Josh, thank you SO much for the helpful info! You guys are great, it's really helped me out a lot.
Hey Paige87! I was trying to figure out how to send you a message, but I don't think I can yet. Yes! I do still need a roommate! I didn't lay down my $300 deposit yet because I had no idea what I was going to do yet! I'd also love to live with another Nursing student too! I know what you mean about the expenses, but I guess we don't have many options, right?
I'll do the housing application today, and I will add you on facebook now :) My email is [email protected], if anyone else is on facebook and is interested in becoming friends on there too.
Awesome! I sent you a friend request Caileeg89.
Has anyone received financial aid awards yet? I keep checking my email but havnt received anything yet. I filled out FAFSA on Dec 24th. Is there a packet I need to fill out... Im kind of confused by the financial aid stuff. Any help would be appreciated. I sent out an email to onestop today.
It should be under your self service thing in your usfconnect. I know when I did fafsa I didn't send it to the school but I filled out the FAFSA application. So I would e-mail and ask (they will tell you if you did or not and if you didn't they will send you the school code- know your password and pin though for FAFSA (don't get locked out of your account like me haha)) It will then show you a break down of your loans. Unfortunately, FAFSA didn't give me that much money so I had to (or my parents did) take a parent plus loan which is another type of loan from the government. One stop helps you pretty well though in explaining it. Even in e-mail they are pretty quick.

in addition to the tuition fees, if you are a part time student, it might affect your financial aid if you have received grants, or scholarships. But since we only need 1 unit per semester, I wanted to ask if I could maintain my full time student status at a community college. Community college tuition is only $26 per unit in San Francisco. But in doing so, I need the dean's permission. I need to maintain a full time student status, but it's hard to fork up $18,000 a semester. So if all goes well, I will take 1-2 units at USF and 12 units at a community college.
