Hi! I've seen other threads like this one. Pretty much it is just a support thread of anyone who is applying to the University of South Florida's Fall 2017 nursing class. There are threads for about every other year except 2017, so I am starting it. If there is anyone else who just wants to talk to someone going through the process like me, feel free to reply to this discussion.
Good luck to anyone applying to nursing school this semester. I understand first hand how nerve racking it can be!
HI
I just finished prerequisite at HCC last fall 2016 but I didn't get to apply to nursing program until in spring 2017. I want to apply in fall/2017 my GPA.4.0. I already dropped my application at HCC a week ago, but I am not sure if I will be accepted, so I am thinking about the transfer to USF or finish ADN at HCC than transfer to USF for BSN. I am not sure if I am right or wrong but I think that USF will secure the seat for USF students first. it will be tough for HCC students to get in.
Hi guys! This is my second time applying to the upper division program. I have a 3.94 cum and only one B in my prerequiste I'm not sure what that will be calculated as. I was interviewed last year but got wait listed So I was pretty confident about this years cycle 1 only for me to get denied an interview! I was so disappointed. Currently waiting on cycle 2. I think it's such a shame how there are many of us who have worked really hard to get into this program and still don't make it.
To make you guys feel all better about cycle 1, it's because there's only like 30 spots for Cycle 1. There were 300-400 applicants so less than 10% are given spots. But for Cycle 2, there will be ~80ish spots so a larger percentage of applicants will be given the opportunity for an interview. Don't be saddened! (Source: I heard from my USF nursing advisor)
