  1. You may attend an interview workshop after u are being giving a spot, that was really helpful. You can google like common nursing sch interview questions and practice answering those like multiple times. You don't really need to cram your replies, but I feel like touching base with different question types would enable you to be more clear and precise with your responses rather than rambling and not even answering the actual question on interview day.
  2. That's amazing! You have definitely put yourself in a competitive spot! Make sure you kill your interview! (Practice practice practice ). Good luck
  3. It covers a lot of information about the application and selection process. And there's also a segment called the "real story" where students currently in the programs share their experiences and answer questions that you guys may have. You can find a lot of information on these workshops on the SON website. Check it out there are multiple sessions with specific dates on there.
  4. Yes the interviews are in groups. The questions are generally situation-type questions. There is a "so you wanna be a nurse" workshop coming up this Jan and there'll also be an interview workshop when invitations go out(very informational). The interviewers are really just trying to see past you're stats or GPA. Be yourself, relax and breathe! You'll do great!
  5. Absolutely. I had an 81.3% on the TEAS, 3.96 overall GPA and 3.87 prereq. and yes, you should take the TEAS again to try and score higher(I feel like it gets easier on the 2nd try). Beth was absolutely right on that but keep in mind that is the average(people have gotten in with slightly lower, it all adds up)An 85% with your stats would def give you a good chance for an interview spot(UNF doesn't factor in overall gpa by the way) 35% teas; 14% prereq gpa; 50% interview. Make sure you are well prepared for the interview! It carries a higher % it's where you really get to shine!. Goodluck!:)
  6. Hello ashep94! I was admitted into the program for fall 17, currently in my 2nd semester now! So far I can definitely say the program has been very preparing and challenging at the same time(you have to do work!! But it all pays off in the end:)) the professors are super caring! Maybe the most caring of all programs in FL from what I've heard. The class sizes are smaller as compared to these other schools you've listed. Cohort of 36 and clinical groups of 9, so each student receives the best attention they can get. At UNF the professors are more about helping you out if you're struggling with school work rather than trying to weed people out of the program so that's good! There's always private appointments and emails to help as well. In my cohort we had someone who turned down UF to come to UNF because of how awesome the faculty-student relationship are!. And we have the highest Nclex pass rate in FL I believe;) let me know if you have any more questions!
  7. Mnrnursing I totally feel u on this! I was denied for the fall as well as spring 2018 with a 3.94 GPA and an 81.4 on the Teas. Fgcu does this a lot as well as other schools that do not use a point system to select. I got into UNF on merit. My teas scores, GPA , and interview points was what go me into the program. Keep your head up girl, you deserve to get into a good school. And FGCU definitely needs to revise their selection process in my opinion. Goodluck!
  8. You get notified by email! I think uve got a great chance! I also applied but ended up getting into UNF this fall right here in jax! Good luck guys and keep us updated!
  9. Hey guys! I also applied to the program but I got into UNF right here in jax for this fall! So if I get in I will be declining (I'll check my mail later ha!) to ones that got denied, this is so true..never give up! I was denied twice by USF, UNF last year UWF, FSU, UF, and FGCU this fall. Keep pushing! You'll get in somewhere eventually. And always apply to as much schools as possible to increase ur chances. Good luck
  10. Danicee1221 do the BSN! This a golden opportunity and u never know if you are going to get it next time. And the demand for nurses with a BSN is on the rise now more than ever. Plus u can use thesenext few months to properly prepare for the program in the spring. Get all ur materials set in time and save up! I say FGCU.
  11. Hey guys! Last I heard on Thursday from Beth they were waiting on 1 APL and 4 RPLs. The deadline to accept seats is On the 5th of July and last minute openings as well so hopefully something should come up.
  12. The FB page would be nice! And yes I live in Jacksonville but I'll be moving to an on campus apartment. There are quite a few on campus apartments as well as off campus student housing. Try looking into the district on Kernan. That's really good too.
  13. I got in too finally! RPL! Received my email @ 7:19am.
  14. Beth told us on Friday that we might actually get our emails as early as 6am í ½í¸± I'm super nervous!
  15. @jscorz so apparently we don't hear back July 15th anymore í ½í¸¢ It's been moved to mid August
