Hello everyone. I was searching for a thread but could not find one so I am starting this discussion topic for USF MSN non nurse spring 2018 applications.
Lets all discuss our stats like GPA, volunteer experience, etc. I have a decent prerequisite GPA right now. I have registered for Micro and psychology and will be taking in fall. My undertgrad GPA is 3.15 in computer applications (not that good). After working in customer service I was no longer interested in computers so decided to change my major.
Lets start this journey together and good luck to everyone.
Hi Starestrella!
I was accepted to the SF campus and I'm declining my offer because I was accepted to SFSU's ELM-A program. It's more affordable for me, and I like that we are getting a BSN and an MSN through the program. I was conflicted at first since USF has such a good reputation but it ultimately came down to getting more bang for the buck.
hope that helps!
I would say I average about 30 hours a week studying, but it depends on which courses I am taking that semester and how much other work there is. There is a week off between Spring and Summer Semesters as well as a week off between Summer and Fall semesters. Although with fall there are a lot of breaks in there so that definitely helped a lot. I would say honestly no class has been impossible, but the hardest one for me was Health Promotion/Maternity. It was a lot of material to cover in a summer semester (unfortunately you will have to go through the same). It all boils down to time management. BTW this is for everyone if you do not have a strong foundation in physiology or are rusty I would brush up. Understanding physio makes patho 1/2 and med surg a breeze.

Thank you so much this is very helpful!!
Has anyone completed their Fafsa? do we submit the 2017-2018 version? Thank you!
Yes I got my award letter already but need to make adjustments. Fill out 2017-2018 for spring and summer. Fill out 2018-2019 for the following year. I had to fill out two forms because they do not take into account the summer term if you need loans. They have to adjust your award letter and budget if so. They also said loans disburse jan 15th although the deadline for payments are jan 2..

Is this jan 2 deadline for SF campus? I was interviewed over the phone on tuesday, but I still haven't heard back. I don't know if I'm denied, waitlisted or accepted lol. this feeling really sucks. i just want to get ahead of loans incase i am accepted. What is the deposit that we need to submit and what is the deadline? does anyone know? thank you.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I believe the deadlines are the same regardless of the location :) ah what is the interview for?!
Yes, definitely get ahead of financial aid. Surprisingly they have been quite quick with processing my paperwork. The deposit is $500 non-refundable and will go towards your first tuition payment. I think the deadline for it is the same as when you have to commit by. For those accepted the first round the due date is Nov 28.
I FEEL YOU @B101! I am also still waiting to hear back. It's making me anxious as it seems we will have to hustle if we are accepted to get everything done within the same week. I am hoping we know earliest by Monday, at worst Wednesday? I hope this wait is worth it for the both of us! :)
Thanks for all the input thus far about the program. Do you know the dress code for lectures? I know some schools have professional attire so not sure what to expect. Makes me a little uneasy about the fact they stress so many of the lectures on the CNL role and not how to operate in a clinic, but I hope it will all work out

Hi there! thank you for resopnding to the other questions! I've been admitted to the OC campus.
Wow, so there is only a weekend break between semesters from Jan-Dec? This is making me a little more nervous. How many hours would you say that you study each week? and also, have you encountered an "impossible" class? I know we have to maintain at least a B-, and would love to know what to expect and how to tackle such a rigorous program.
Thank you in advance! Hope you have/had a great thanksgiving (if you read this later on).
