USF MSN-CNL non-nurse spring 2017

Hey guys! I wanted to start a threat for those of you applying to USF's MSN-CNL program for this spring! Deadline is Sep 1st, still some time to go! Who is out there that is applying?? :)

Do you guys think they called everyone accepted so far on Friday or they may call more on Monday? Or, may not send out more acceptances for a week or 2 like in previous semesters? SO MUCH ANTICIPATION!

I think they will wait to see who accepts their spots. I have not received my packet yet which has the instructions to reserve a spot in the class

Just asking because I noticed the calls tend to take 2 days sometimes and they started on a Friday!

I was thinking...I would assume they called all 30-35 Friday to let them know asap and once/if they start to decline spots is when they'd start calling down an already set waitlist, which may likely be what we're on now and why we haven't heard anything at all. Once that process begins, the top applicants from the waitlist are admitted/offered spots and the bottom spots would begin to be declined if top waitlisters accepted and followed through with deposits/etc. Likely why there are random and seeming waves of acceptances, too, as waitlisters could receive notice at any time someone declines or after several admitted applicants fail to submit deposits/etc. by whatever deadline. Only a theory though!!

The only thing is that in past semesters some people just don't find out anything until like weeks after the first acceptances go out, but others find out of wait list notification a few days after the first acceptances. After a few more weeks people get called/accepted in past threads when they hadn't heard a word yet about their application. Weird right? How can they send out wait list notification before giving everyone decisions. It seems they still have a portion of apps to decide on, and it just may be that thats what they are working on now which could be why we haven't heard yet. We are either are on the wait list/haven't been called yet/ or they are still deciding on our apps and filling the class. Either way, its a good sign that we haven't heard yet because it means we are still in the running :)

Hey guys random question. For your FAFSA did you file for 16-17 or 17-18 .. I have no financial aid package but am wondering if they are waiting for people to accept their spots first before they award financial aid? Been thinking about it and I don't believe they have called everyone. In past threads some people get notified about waitlist pretty soon while others do not hearing anything and all of a sudden receive a phone call. Its a weird process.

@md21887 ya I totally agree! Thats why I was so confused about this process and what to expect at this point! Even some people receive the letter and never a call, so weird! Hoping for the best!

You will want to file for 2016-2017 because it goes fall to fall I believe and since you are starting in spring you will be on the tail end of that financial aid cycle. Additionally, in march after you have started the program you will apply for the 2017-2018 aid. I hope that helps! You should call the one stop financial aid office at USF, they are very helpful. (415) 422-2020. While looking up that number I saw on their website that they have early applications now where you can apply for the 2017-2018 year right now. I hope that helps!
