USF MSN-CNL non-nurse spring 2017

Published

Hey guys! I wanted to start a threat for those of you applying to USF's MSN-CNL program for this spring! Deadline is Sep 1st, still some time to go! Who is out there that is applying?? :)

I received a letter in the mail today from USF informing me that I was added onto the waitlist. There's no indication about what number on the waitlist I actually am. But I guess this is much better than receiving a rejection letter. The wait continues....

RD congrats on getting onto the waitlist! That's a big accomplishment in itself. My mail hasn't come yet so we shall see if I get one too, I'll let you know! Was it the standard envelope size?

From my understanding they do not number the waitlist. When a space opens, they go through all the waitlisted people again and choose from the list

Did the letter indicate a time frame where they would give you a decision by?

Per the letter: "We expect replies from admitted students by the week of November 14th, 2016 and hope to be able to update you regarding your application status by the end of that week"

So it looks like everyone who was actually accepted into the program received some form of notice on Friday...

I suppose I should be happy, but it's also fairly unnerving..

I am anxiously waiting for the mail today now.....well I'm hoping for the best for all of us! The waitlist is definitely an unnerving position to be in but it looks like they plan to update sooner rather than later so at least you will know by that third week in Nov!

and to answer your previous question...yeah, the letter came in a standard envelope.

best of wishes to you and everyone else patiently waiting.

I received waitlist notification just now. Better than a denial but more waiting! Now I can be at ease for a few weeks until they update us.

@aftonheistand would you (or anyone) happen to know what the likelihood of getting accepted into the program is when you're waitlisted?

@RDSoul honestly I have no idea. The problem is there are only so many people posting on allnurses.com, but looking back at the summer cohort people posted that they did get off the waitlist and into the program. It seems like in most semesters I've looked on here, people are posting that they got off the waitlist (some, at least). It all depends on who accepts the positions. I wish we knew how many people were on the waitlist! I am so nervous!

Hi all! Congrats to everyone who has received acceptance and waitlist notifications. How exciting for you all!!

I still haven't heard any feedback from USF regarding my application. No waitlist, acceptance, or denial. I know of several people in my area who received waitlist notification as of today so I would have assumed that by now I would have gotten a letter as well if waitlist were the case for me.

Anyone else in the same boat? I don't know of anyone personally who hasn't heard back at all yet. I'm starting to get extra anxious. I just want the wait to be over! I reached out to Erin today about my application but haven't heard back. Guess I'll just continue to wait...

Wow, seems like there are many people on the wait list! I am unsure as to why you haven't received any notification yet, how annoying! Maybe something is coming soon, keep us updated!
