USF BSN & ABSN Hopefuls Summer 2015

Published

I know I am jumping on this topic early but is anyone else excited about the upcoming ability to apply to USF? Lets get to know each other! Share a little about yourself. We can also talk about the application process, writing sample, gpa, facts/things you have heard, concerns/thoughts, other schools your applying, ect.

Lets get a conversation going! Go bulls!!

For real! I know its going to take like 3 weeks.... I'll still be checking my status daily :p

I got my acceptance letter from HCC. I'm glad that I have a backup for this fall start.

Agreed. I got accepted to Duke University and University of San Diego today. USF was my fall back plan. Glad things worked out. Good luck to all applying to USF.

Yep! I'll be declining my spot too! I got into the Columbia ETP track with NP program so there will be one more seat open!

I'm in the same boat; if I get accepted to USF I'll likely be declining because of admission elsewhere. Good luck to all!

Did anyone else get an email in regards to registering for nursing orientation? I know decisions haven't gone out yet but I thought it was a little strange that I received an email congratulating me on choosing USF and that I need to register for the nursing orientation!

Yes, received that email on Monday!

Hi! Thats awesome! Congrats! I am curious what your undergrad degree is in and your gpa? I am planning on applying to Columbia as well for their DNP program as soon as I get my RN. Thanks for your input.

Awesome! Although there's been no acceptance letter yet when I check I my registration status and whatnot on the NetID login area it says I'm eligible to register for classes so I'm guessing that means I'm in?? Fingers crossed. Good luck!!

My overall GPA was 3.5 in Biomedical Science and Public Health with minor in Economics. I also have a Masters in Medical Science. I worked in the hospital as a scribe and have a few publications when I did stem cell research for a few years. My pre requisite GPA is a 4.0 for nursing. I think Columbia looks at diversity and what you have to offer. How you can stand out from all their applicants. There were people who got in that have no science back ground and just did the pre reqs and have traveled all over the world. They definitely take a holistic approach.

NURSINGFANATIC thank you! I appreciate it. Best of luck to you!

Did anyone else receive that nursing orientation email? I found that to be strange as well. Here's hoping for good news!
