USF BSN & ABSN Hopefuls Summer 2015

Published

I know I am jumping on this topic early but is anyone else excited about the upcoming ability to apply to USF? Lets get to know each other! Share a little about yourself. We can also talk about the application process, writing sample, gpa, facts/things you have heard, concerns/thoughts, other schools your applying, ect.

Lets get a conversation going! Go bulls!!

Hey NurseNessa,

If you already know the number admitted, I am assuming that decisions have already been made? How did you learn about the numbers?

Hi MorganB29,

Originally, I applied to both upper division and second degree, despite already having a bachelors degree. I was informed I would only be considered for the second degree, but they still had my upper division application active. They responded and denied my upper division application and attached that information I provided, along with tips for the writing example, etc. They still have not released the admission decisions for the second degree applications, at least for mine.

Ah me too!! Crossing fingers for you too!

I hope we get accepted! It would be awesome to be classmates, even though we're already at odds with you being a florida state gal and I'm a gator :roflmao:

I wonder how long it would take me to complete the BSN portion after i earn the ADN. I have an AA and a BS. I hope no more than three semesters.
From what I was told, it will take you an additional 5 semesters to do the Rn to BSN portion being that you cannot jump ahead with the classes.

You may be able to find an online school that will do it in less time.

Accepted to upper division!

What's weird is they never denied my Upper Sequence application despite already having a Bachelors degree as well. Both of my status still say Committee (argggh!)

@todd1977, asked hubby and he said he belived it was approx 4-5 semesters but was not entirely sure. He plans to attend USF for his BSN but wants to work approx 6 or so months before entering in to the program (He's not rushing as he wants to take "it" all in).

I am in the same boat as you, I have a BS and applied for the Accelerated BSN. If the Accelerated BSN at USF doesn't work out I think I will opt for HCC for the ASN/RN and then go to USF for the RN to MSN program. Did you by chance look into this option?

@ream, I was planning to attend USF after HCC. I received my BS in Business from USF, and like the school. I'm also looking at WGU since it is fully accredited and non-profit.

Best of luck to everyone!! Hopefully the rest of us will know our fate in a few days!

Mine finally changed. I was offered an alternate spot, so essentially on the waiting list!

Check your email! I finally got my response, I am an alternate. Crossing my fingers for you :)

I was accepted to the 2nd degree sequence program. I will be turning down my seat though as I'm already slotted to go to Duke University. That should open up a seat for someone! Best of luck to all.
