I know I am jumping on this topic early but is anyone else excited about the upcoming ability to apply to USF? Lets get to know each other! Share a little about yourself. We can also talk about the application process, writing sample, gpa, facts/things you have heard, concerns/thoughts, other schools your applying, ect.
Lets get a conversation going! Go bulls!!
Woo hoo -- I'm accepted to the 2nd degree program! My wife and kids have lived here in the Tampa Bay area for many years, so I had all of my eggs in the USF basket and am very excited to take my seat.
BTW, I did receive a denial for my upper division application. I remember being told that I could be accepted to both and then have a choice, but that does not appear to be true. The email states, "Your application for the Upper Division program has been denied because you have been admitted to the Second Degree/Accelerated program."
As someone who has trolled this site for a long time, I know others may be interested in stats: I had a 3.81 GPA overall with a 4.00 in the pre-reqs. Remember that they're now weighing the essay at 50% of the evaluation, so grades are not everything.
Good luck and Go Bulls!
Hey everyone, I got accepted into the accelerated program as well! I currently live in the Orlando area so I'm waiting to hear back from UCF to make my final decision. My stats were 3.49 overall GPA and 3.85 cumulative GPA. I honestly didn't think my stats were good enough but I guess they must really look at the essay portion so that's encouraging at least for anyone applying to future cohorts! You just never know what they're looking for. Hopefully UCF releases their decisions soon so everyone can leave this terrible waiting game behind!
Mine finally changed this morning! They are probably still in the process of updating everyone.
Unfortunately, I was not accepted. I remain optimistic and know everything happens for a reason. I am happy for all those who were accepted and to those who are in the same predicament as me- do NOT give up! Keep following your aspirations and goals, you will reach them!
