I'm hoping to get into Shadyside in either sprig 2010 or the fall. Anyone else out there already accepted or trying as well?
Ok, well everything is going great so far. We just had our first tests a couple of weeks ago and they weren't really that bad as long as you study. Right now I only have 3 classes because I already got Micro out of the way but if you don't have any classes done you will have micro, a&p1, nursing 100, and nursing 101.
My schedule is no classes on Mon. and then Tues. and Wed. I'm done by 11:30 and then Thurs. I have class until 3 with anatomy of a morning, Friday I only have labs, but I know some people actually have class on Fridays(they are the ones who have no classes carried over). It basically just depends on if you have classes out of the way already or not as to what your schedule is.
As far as pointers go I don't really have much to say because you don't really need to brush up on any information beforehand. I would pretty much just say to enjoy your summer and relax. Because your first nursing classes are a communications class(nursing 100) and a class that just basically tells you a little bit about the foundation of everything you will learn later on (nursing 101) so there isn't anything you could really read over the summer.
Any other questions just ask.
Thanks kbm318,
Any advice that you can give will be helpful to me I am finishing up micro class now and will be done in two weeks. I'm taking logic online this summer at ccac so hopefully I will be accepted and I will just have the nursing courses to do and the diversity in healthcare class.:)
So I received a call today from a woman from UPMC Shadyside, not Natalie, who left a vm with a question about my application. I called back and she is "out of the office" until monday. Soooo frustrating!
Anyone else have this happen/ know what it could concern? It would really calm my nerves!!!
After a long and stressful weekend, I actually spoke with the woman who had called. Against my better judgement, I had decided to leave out my transcripts from a failed year at CalU- I cared way more about my social life than my academic life, and failed out. I figured since I didn't want those grades to transfer, there was no need to include them. WRONG. They're on my permanent record, and Shadyside needs the transcripts in order to even consider me for financial aid.
So- long story short, CalU is sending the transcripts and I'm still waiting.

Hey I started in March at Shadyside, what exactly are you wanting to know. I don't know much about tuition forgiveness because I'm not doing that but anything else I can try to help.
