Hi Everyone!!

They have just announced as of today that the Fall 2010 section was open for applications. I haven't heard anything about the number of seats since I was a holdover from the Spring 2010 admission cycle. Take that test and get all of your info into you so that when you get your letter saying that you can continue with the process, you'll have everything to send in to Natalie. It's much easier to have things sent to you (i.e. references, transcripts, etc.) just have them sign the seal of the envelope when sealed.

I hope that this helps you some...and Good Luck!!!

Hi everyone! I'm new to the site, but I'm waiting on acceptance for the Fall 2010 session @ UPMC Shadyside. I've already taken the PSB, and submitted my transcript requests, essay, letters of recommendation, etc.

How long do I have to wait!? It's killing me!

I'm waiting just like you...as I'm a holdover for consideration from the March 2010 start date. They were going to start the review this past Friday March 12, 2010 and all I can say is hang tight. Natalie is the ONLY one doing this and she does frazzle easily (understandably so). Hang tight...and good luck!

I sent everything in last Monday- 3/8/10- so I'm hoping it was there to start reviewing. I'm just wondering though, since they say that they review applicants as they receive them, does anyone have an estimated timeline of sending in their applications, and when they hear back?

How long did it take you guys to get your PSB results back. I know in the previous post they said it took forrrrrever so I didnt know if they were being quick about it now?

And is the PSB test as bad as I've been hearing? I take it next wed. and I CANNOT wait to get it over with!! :p

In my experience with the test this is what happened:

I took the test for the first time in the Summer of 2009, hoping to get in for March 2010- I passed all sections in the 90-99%, except Natural Sciences, of course. I wasted my time studying a book that had NOTHING to do with any of the questions. You need to know weird stuff, like "Who invented the X-Ray," and look over electricity information, especially units of measurement. I took the Chatham remidiation course over the fall, and tested again on 2/5/2010. Before the test they tell you that you will have your results in 7-10 days. Not the case...

Right after the test we got smacked with 24 inches of snow, and Presidents Day- I was figuring 7-10 business days. I didn't receive my scores until 3/2/2010. I would honestly figure about 3 weeks.

This could just be a coincidence from the bad weather, cancellations, etc.

Good Luck on the test! Study hard!

:yeah:

Hello everyone! I am taking my psb for shadyside this friday and i was reading through some responses on what is on it and i found everyones to be very helpful, especially aderr02. I have a quick question about what kind of math is on it like fractions, decimals, word problems? Also what does the science part mainly focus on, more chemistry, or physics? and i also heard there were some nutrition questions on it too. Thanks in advance!:)
