UPMC Shadyside 2010 hopefuls

Published

I'm hoping to get into Shadyside in either sprig 2010 or the fall. Anyone else out there already accepted or trying as well?

I just got the result for the retake of my math on the PSB and I passed with an 80%. Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!! Now, I need to hurry up and get my essay done and get everything together. I don't want to wait last minute. Should the essay have a citation? I doubt it. HELP!!!!

I just got home and found out that I too had recieved an acceptance letter and I have also been ACCEPTED.

Mine didn't have one...just write from the heart is my suggestion. It should encompasses the ideals of the school in some way shape or form. Congrats on passing that exam!

Thank you! I received a packet in the mail...keep your eyes peeled to your mailbox.

Was it sent certified mail? I got a pink slip in my mailbox yesterday for a missed letter...I am assuming that is probably it.

I still haven't got anything in the mail yet!! =(

Does anyone know about the new tuition increase price? It's effective starting for Aug 2010

Hi, I received my acceptance pack in the mail, and yes, the tuition DID go up. The new Tuition Frgiveness price is $12,800 for two years, so it would be $6400 a year, and then they have a break down per semester. They also have changed the qualifications for Tuition Forgiveness. Now, you must complete a FAFSA and your expected familiy contribution (EFC) MUST be $2000 or less to qualify. Otherwise, you will be responsible for the full amount [around $32,000] for two years. Hope this helps!

I called Natalie yesterday to make sure my CAL transcripts made it in, they were the only thing that they were waiting on. They came in on Monday and now my file is complete... Sitting here waiting is driving me nutty!:uhoh3:

My suggestion to those that are waiting for 'the' letter or pack...start getting your clearances done IMMEDIATELY! What I mean by that is start getting your FBI fingerprints check done (through the PA DPW, NOT the PA Dept of Ed.), Child Abuse check (also through PA DPW, form is online), and the PA CHRI (can be done entirely online in a few minutes). When you get your pack, there will be a VERY short amount of time that you have to get everything done and sent into the school's admission office. It's gonna take $56, but that will MORE than make up for it in spades in not worrying about whether your background checks will make it in time.

Thanks. They have my CCAC transcripts so, I am waiting, hoping for an acceptance letter. Everything else is in.

I'm accepted! Anyone know what info session they are planning on going to? I'll be in Mexico :jester: in June so I'm thinking that May 27th is the best for me.

Let me know and we can meet up!
