Hi everybody,
I couldn't find a thread for UPenn but is anybody else applying?
I recently invested in a suit (jacket and skirt) because I figured I could use it for future interviews for jobs and other things and it's also versatile because I can mix and match for other professional outfits. I don't think it's required to wear a suit but maybe wear a blazer, collared shirt and a skirt/pants as long it looks professional! :)
Okay great. I recently purchased a nice blazer and pants, but a friend was explaining that medical school interviews recommend a nice suit set. I have heard graduate programs aren't as appearance-oriented as medical schools during the interview process, but now I have started questioning if I should purchase another outfit.
Yeah, I heard that people wear suits during medical school interviews too. My friend has been doing interviews for medical school and he wore a suit too. My advice is being over-dressed is better than being under dressed but as long as you look professional it shouldn't be a problem. I think a nice blazer and pants would be good but you could always e-mail and ask what is recommended that you wear in case.
Hi everyone!
I'm also interviewing for Penn's FNP specialty and I'm from California. I'm pretty sure I'm going to come to the in-person interview, and am wondering if anyone knows the deadline to decide phone vs. in-person?
Also, I agree with the "over-dressed is better than under-dressed" concept, but how does being in the snow affect business attire? Do we wear a heavy peacoat or something over a blazer/suit top?
You should wear an overcoat over your suit jacket (hence the term overcoat), and I suppose we can wear our boots to school first and then change shoes inside? I'm not familiar with snow because I'm from California... Regardless, I'll be wearing a suit as well because I think that's the "proper" business attire for things like this
Can't wait for cold weather though! This is going to be way more exciting than the interview itself! I'll probably end up exploring the city afterward (and spending a lot of money on clothes or something if I feel depressed after the interview).

You'll probably have to decide soon before prices go up!
Time to practice, then... hope it's not too difficult
