UPenn Direct Entry BSN/MSN 2015

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everybody,

I couldn't find a thread for UPenn but is anybody else applying?

Ooh dang those are interesting questions. I thought they would just ask the normal questions like Why do you want to do nursing? Why do you want to attend UPenn and why your specific specialty? Maybe it depends on who interviews you?

Whaaaat they ask about how your friends would describe you? That's very interesting. I'll try to prepare for that then but I hope I don't get that question haha

Yeah, it was definitely not what I expected!

Out of curiosity: 1 interviewer or more?

Mine was just one person on the phone. Anyone who did an in-person want to chime in?

Almost forgot that financial aid stuff is due on Dec. 15th!!! Gonna start on it now.

Ugh yeah that stuff was a huge pain....also that CSS/profile thing costs $25 to submit because its through college board :S

I just ordered my parents a fax machine so they can send info. They don't think the school will consider grants due to the amount they make and won't assist until I get a response from FinAid and they fear the online is not safe for their financial information. I am 27 and independent so it confuses them. I may or may not be able to complete.

What is CSS/PROFILE? Is that undergraduate loans? and the PFAS the form for grants? I am lost! Is the submission for loans revocable if you choose a different school or is this set in stone?

Has everyone received info. about a phone interview and were you informed about who you are interviewing with, or just a title?

Ugh I know but I'm not gonna be lazy if I can get money!!! It's gonna be $150,000 just for the RN part. I'm not actually sure about all these forms I've never heard of them before. I never had to do these for my undergraduate degree.

And no I haven't heard about the phone interview yet. When I signed up it said I was interviewing with the name but other than that no.

Oh just found out PFAS is Penn Financial Aid Supplement.

Apparently the CSS/PROFILE is for non-federal funding so it must be for scholarships?

Here's the checklist for everything financial aid related:

Financial Aid Checklist for Prospective Undergraduates

CSS Profile CSS/PROFILE non-federal funding "private loans." I probably will be calling CSS/PROFILE Monday to determine if they just offer loans for consideration or if this application is giving loans.

Good luck to everyone!
