2018 UPenn BSN/MSN

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Greetings fellow 2018 UPenn BSN/MSN applicants! Just thought I could start a thread for the incoming applicants so we can help each other out through the application process.

Does anyone know if we need to submit separate transcripts for study abroad programs if it's already clearly stated on our official undergraduate transcript? Thanks! : )

Did anybody file their financial aid yet? Do you know if copies of W-2's need to be submitted separately or is it okay if they're included on the tax returns submitted?

I included my W2s. I believe the website said you needed to include copies of your W2s in your upload.

Does anyone if they are going to release scholarships at the same time of announcing who got accepted?

At the in-person interview day, they let us know that we will our receive financial aid award within about two weeks of their decision (and we will have about a month to make our decision at that point).

Has anyone who signed up for a phone interview heard back about scheduling yet?

I followed up recently via email and haven't gotten a response.

Have you gotten a reply yet? May I know what specialty you applied to?

Hi, all! I didn't apply in this cycle, but plan to apply next fall for the 2019 BSN-MSN CNM program. I'm wondering if, while you all are anxiously awaiting acceptance, the CNM applicants would be willing to share your stats and experience. I'm a little older (undergrad class of 2009), so I am particularly interested to hear from applicants in their late 20's to mid 30's. Thanks so much in advance!

Hey @TangoDeux! Which year's taxes/W2 forms did you submit?

Hope everyone had a good holiday season!

I included my most recent ones from 2016 for the 2018-2019 FAFSA. Once my 2017 taxes get filed, then I will submit for the 2019-2020 year to get financial aid. I had to submit two different sets because I have a mix of schools that I applied to. I submitted one set for the ones that have an ABSN program and another one that was for schools wth only graduate programs so I could get the right aid depending on the school. I just got an email from another school asking me to make amendments to my 2017-2018 financial aid for the summer portion of the program. I know it is confusing, you can PM me or find me on FB and I can direct chat you but I think after all my research I figured out how it all works.

I have my phone interview for the PMH-NP track tomorrow afternoon! I'm so nervous -- anyone have any tips about the interview this round? I'm really hoping that interviewing over the phone wont hurt my chances!

@HopefulPsychNP-

I know this is easier said than done, but the most important thing you can do is relax and be yourself. Show your passion, know why you love Penn, and you will be great. :)

If you don't get an interview by jan 31 2018 is that most likely an indication that you didn't get in. Does anyone know anyone that never got an interview but was accepted to the Penn ABSN program at some point in time?

Secondly, does anyone know the percentage of students that get in vs what percent of accepted students received interviews?

I'm curious to know as well. I had my phone "interview" today and it....went strangely. First question was "do you have any questions for me?"....I expected that to be at the end lol most interviews are about getting to know the interviewee. /vent. I wonder how much influence the "interview" has on admissions
