2018 UPenn BSN/MSN

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Greetings fellow 2018 UPenn BSN/MSN applicants! Just thought I could start a thread for the incoming applicants so we can help each other out through the application process.

Does anyone know if we need to submit separate transcripts for study abroad programs if it's already clearly stated on our official undergraduate transcript? Thanks! : )

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone knew if absn-msn applicants are considered for just the absn portion if they aren't outright accepted? Also, does anyone know how many are accepted into the AGACNP program?

Thanks!

Yes, if you aren't accepted into the MSN, they will automatically consider you for the ABSN. I wrote about it a few pages ago on this thread when I talked about the info I was given during my interview. From previous threads, if you go that route, most students have a 95% chance of being accepted into the MSN portion after they finish their ABSN and then apply for the MSN mainly because they have had a year to evaluate you during the ABSN.

The numbers for Penn have always been a bit murky mostly because they have so many different streams for entry into their programs as well as FT and PT students. What we do know is that they had around 650 applicants this year and accept around 90 students. From my interview, they told me they accept 16 NM and 16 WHNP which leaves around 58 spots for the remaining specialties. From my own experience, AC generally is smaller then the other specialties because they are generally harder to get into, place greater weight on grades and GRE scores, and require some experience before an applicant can apply. My best guess is between 5 - 10. If someone has better info, feel free to chime in.

Does anyone know how much the total cost of the program for FNP from beginning to end? I am trying to figure out but having a hard time doing so

Do you know how many of the 90 accepted would be for psych? Also how many the accept from the interviews? Sorry if this has been answered before!

Does anyone know how many applicants total were invited to interview?

Does anyone know how many applicants total were invited to interview?

Although just an estimate, they interview about double the number of accepted applicants. So roughly 180 people got interviews.

Good to know! Thank you

For clarification, I believe that UPenn intends on matriculating roughly 90 students. At the interview day they said that they will accept 25-30% of their 650 person applicant pool, which means that they'll be accepting about 180 applicants and expect that 90/180 will choose to attend Penn.

I am so glad you asked! I was so preoccupied with getting my application together I completely blanked on asking about the stats, thanks.

Has anyone who signed up for a phone interview heard back about scheduling yet?

I followed up recently via email and haven't gotten a response.

How long is the program from start to finish for the ABSN-MSN specifically the FNP?

Did anybody file their financial aid yet? Do you know if copies of W-2's need to be submitted separately or is it okay if they're included on the tax returns submitted?
