I know many of you were following the story of my hospital which was evacuated on Thurs/Fri the 12-13 due to a MAJOR flood. Well I thought I would give you an update. We are up and running!!! Well sort of..My unit opened yesterday and we have 1 patient..I think we had a total of 3-4 patients house wide...talk about an amazing nurse patient raito!! The ER which has had to be moved, because it will need to be completely redone is up and running as an urgent care facitily..until we get a mobile cath lab..early next week. We lost our ER, Lab, Radiology, CS, most of the storerooms...and lots more...but we have worked really hard and with the help of hundreds of national guard and disaster recovery personel are making huge strides!! I cannot believe it! It will probably be 6 months until it is normal again, but we are surviving!! Please continue to pray..as 130+ employees from my hospital were personally affected..3 from my floor lost everything! Same for our neighbor hospital that has taken up all the slack. Almost 30,000 people in our city are displaced and over 1000 city blocks were flooded. It will take a long time to recover...but we are strong! Thanks to you all!!
