Upcoming NCLEX RN advice

Published

Hello everyone,

I take my NCLEX RN on July 1, 2009, I have been using Kaplan q bank and q trainers I finished all of them. On question trainer 6= 68% q trainer 7 62%. I used up all my q bank at 100% any suggestions on what I should be doing now???:wink2: I am nervous by this being my second time around. Any suggestions on SATA??

Thanks all help and suggestion are appreciated!!

I am scheduled for the NCLEX RN July 8th and I too am about done with the Kaplan qtrainer questions. When finished with them I will continue to go over all the ones I had wrong until I get them all correct.

I am also doing questions every day from the online NCLEX 3500. It is free and here is the link:

Make sure you know the common lab values. I have them on index cards.

Hope this helps some.

Thanks for the website and tips!!:bowingpur:D

hw much did you pay for kaplan q trainer?????????? my exam is july 20th

I took the in class Kaplan review which is more around $450. If you buy the q trainers and q bank its cheaper. The questions they provide really make you think. I just hope its pay off when I sit for my nclex rn!!:wink2:

Specializes in lots of specialties.

STUDY STUDY STUDY infection control. I memorized contact and airborne because the list was too big for droplet to memorized. If you know contact and airborne and what to wear in those situations then you do fine.I had 30 Qs on them.

There is actually a post here about it I also went back through mt=y Saunders book to get all the specifics.

Make sure to study priorties( who do you see 1st)

I practiced math from this site.It helped even though I had no math this time.

how many questions did u get when u took ur exam the first time? i got only 76 and failed. i also have to take my nclex rn the second time, and i am going to do the kaplan review which is $450.00, but i dont care, i really need to pass this time around, my review doesnt start until july 12, and my exam isnt until mid august, let us know how u do this time, .. i heard that kaplan is good with test taking strategies, they teach u that if u are totally not sure about a choice, then see if u have similiarities, if two answers are similiar , eliminate the two, and then make an educated guess from the remaining two, and i heard that if there are two opposites, the answer is usually one of the opposites.. ? is that how kaplan teaches? i heard that the decision tree is where u learn the strategies, is that true? i hope to learn these strategies, because i did not use them my first time around.

Yeah thats pretty much what they teach u, first time around i had all 265!!!, kaplan gives you 1300+ questions, I will let u all know how i did. Hopefully I will be posting i passed post!!!:yeah:

did you use kaplan the first time u took ur exam? .. i heard that kaplan only gives money back gaurentee to ppl who are taking the nclex for the first time and fail, but not for the second time.. i wonder why..

I was told by my Kaplan rep that if you get 60% or above on Question Trainers 6&7, you are ready for the NCLEX. I know someone who took NCLEX and got 265 questions and failed. She took Kaplan, took NCLEX again, got 75 questions and PASSED!
