Hi there. I am applying for the UofA MEPN 2021 program this Fall, and thought I'd open up this thread for others also applying at this time.
A little about me - I was originally going to apply for the 2020 program, but delayed it a year due to the birth of my youngest in late 2019. I have quite a bit of healthcare experience before the birth of my children, as well as volunteer experience in other areas. I haven't taken the HESI yet, but my stats are 3.5 (last 60), and 3.8 (prerequisites). I have a Bachelors degree in Biology, and am *really* hopeful to make it into this MEPN program. My goal is to be a Nurse Practitioner ? One of my aspirations is to serve impoverished communities in third world countries.
Would love to hear from others, and open up dialogue regarding questions and general advice.
Best of luck to all the 2021 candidates!

Also, with the interviews conducted online, it makes me wonder if teaching will also be conducted online due to Covid. Does anyone have any information regarding this?
Hi! Current MEPN student here - as of now, all our lectures that would normally be in person are online via zoom. We have not met in person except for a few clinical days and skills lab. I hope this changes for you all but it hasn't been completely terrible, LOL. I heard around this time last year about interviews so good luck to you all who have applied! We are excited to meet you guys.

I'm happy for you guys, but also really annoyed because I selected "Tucson only" because my husband and I own a house here, and I was waitlisted and then got into Phoenix, but didn't think it was viable to drive up there everyday, but if I had known it all would basically be virtual, I could be halfway through the program right now D': And I am stressed about if I will get in this year at all (hi, anxiety and potentially a lot more candidates this year who will push me out...) anywayssss...

Ugh I know, I think we’re all nervous to hear about interviews. I’m interested to see if there’s more or less people applying this round. I think there’s a chance it’s less than normal... I mean I know I’m hesitant about doing nursing school online, I understand why someone would want to wait until classes are fully in person. Try and keep calm until interviews are announced ?

That's good to know that the invites for interview will happen towards the end of the month ? I kept thinking it would happen in the middle of the month, so was gettin' kinda nervous! Do you know if the invite will be by email or phone call? Or both? Also, curious to know where you heard that the invite will occur at the end of the month. Just wondering if I missed an email or something, LOL! Best of luck to everyone applying ?

Last year the invites went out on the 17th, so I'm actually surprised we haven't heard yet, but it was the 3rd week of Jan, so maybe this Friday is when we will hear back (since it'll be the 3rd real week of Jan).
Also, I believe the email they sent when they said our apps were received said something about how we would hear near the end of Jan.
We will be emailed - not called.

My friend who is currently in the BSN program says all her classes so far have been online and via zoom. And for last semester they had clinicals online but this semester they have clinicals in person. I’m also getting nervous about the upcoming interviews too! Hopefully we will find out more this upcoming week!
