Hi there. I am applying for the UofA MEPN 2021 program this Fall, and thought I'd open up this thread for others also applying at this time.
A little about me - I was originally going to apply for the 2020 program, but delayed it a year due to the birth of my youngest in late 2019. I have quite a bit of healthcare experience before the birth of my children, as well as volunteer experience in other areas. I haven't taken the HESI yet, but my stats are 3.5 (last 60), and 3.8 (prerequisites). I have a Bachelors degree in Biology, and am *really* hopeful to make it into this MEPN program. My goal is to be a Nurse Practitioner ? One of my aspirations is to serve impoverished communities in third world countries.
Would love to hear from others, and open up dialogue regarding questions and general advice.
Best of luck to all the 2021 candidates!

I'm also wondering if my stats are alright or if I should re-take some classes.
HESI 90, Last 60 3.73 and pre-reqs 3.27
4 years in a health care role and 2 years hospital volunteer experience.
Is competitive ranking determined by pre-req GPA?
Thanks ?
Hi! From my understanding your pre req GPA is a little low. Why not retake a few classes? You're experience is awesome ?
Hey guys!
Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. I submitted my app by 12/15 and they have my final transcripts but Nursing CAS still hasn't verified me! I got an email from the advising team recently that made it sound like my application wouldn't be considered if it isn't verified by the end of the month. Then they said they are on break until 1/4 and won't be answering emails! Im a little freaked out, I heard it can take weeks for nursing CAS to verify.
Anyone else get that email?? Thanks!

As long as you submitted your application you should be good. From my understanding.

I wish I had more information ... getting a bit nervous as invites for interviews are coming up! Also, with the interviews conducted online, it makes me wonder if teaching will also be conducted online due to Covid. Does anyone have any information regarding this?
