University of Washington (UW) DNP 2021

Nursing Students School Programs

Updated:   Published

Looked for another thread but couldn't find one, anyone applying to University of Washington's (UW) DNP program starting Autumn 2021?

What track is everyone applying to?

Does anyone know if any one thing is worth more weight in admissions (GPA, LORs, Experience, etc.)?

Does anyone know the profile of a competitive applicant? Someone in the 2020 thread posted a link for admission stats from 2018, looked like around a 35-45% acceptance rate, depending on the track.  I haven't been able to find any updated information. Anyone have any?

I'll be applying to the Adult Gerontology Acute Care NP track!

I just completed the essay, I was so nervous!! but I am glad I am done now.

Specializes in Acute care.

Congratulations on finishing it. I am planning to do it tomorrow m. So nervous☹️

Done with my essays. Not as challenging as expected but thought provoking. Good luck everyone ?

Specializes in ICU.

In case anyone is interested, I asked how many applications were received for AGPC and they said 36.

Good luck everyone!

Oh interesting, wonder how many applied to acute care. Does anyone remember how many students they can take? I remember them saying something about the number of AG students is split between acute care and primary care.

Isn't 36 a lot for AGPC only? Acute care must be more than that.

Specializes in ICU.

The number seems average compared to posts from previous years. At least for PC. I remember they said they would admit between 14-16 for PC.

I wonder how many applied to FNP. FNP is always competitive and lots of people apply to this track. I was waitlisted last year and hoping to get in this year!

Specializes in Peds PACU.

I just finished the online essay.  The time limit was definitely the hardest part for me.  My fingers were shaking and made all kinds of spelling errors that I had to correct.  Oh well, glad to be done.

I applied for Pediatric CNS.  Good luck everyone!

When do we get to start hearing about acceptance/waitlist/deny again?

Their email I got a week or so ago said first week of March.

Specializes in ICU.

Unless anyone has further information, I found my notes from one of the information meetings and they had said they will admit 23 people for adult acute care and adult primary combined.  They didn't say what the breakdown would be for each, but I'd imagine somewhere around 50/50, so 11-12 students for AGPC and 11-12 for AGAC...not many spots.
