University of Texas at Arlington Fall 2020 Cohort

Published

Hello Everyone!!

It is finally my time to post to this forum! EXCITING!!! I did not see a thread for Fall 2020 and I might be SUUUUPER early but man that nursing application process takes proper a year doesn't it?

I am done with all my general courses and TEAS except for nursing chem, one elective (health and human disease), Patho, Pharm, and Intro to Nursing. I plan to take CHEM 1451 and HEED 4312 in the Fall 19 semester, apply in January, and then while waiting on that, take Patho and Intro to Nursing in Spring 2020 and Pharm by itself in Summer 2020.

I have an A in Micro, A&P 1, and A&P 2. This has been a LOOOONG journey and I cannot wait to start!

It is a canvas announcement. Check there for info. If you have canvas updates set up, you will recieve an email.

based on what they say about shoes - black or white leather, should we assume they have to be all black or all white? Most athletic shoes always have some different color linings etc, even the ones considered "all white" and "all black"....

They have to be completely black or completely white, including the linings, bottoms, logos, etc. Some instructors, you can get away with them not being completely black or white, but a lot of instructors are very strict about it.

Good question! Hopefully they’ll answer this next week during orientation. I managed to get in on ordering some Clove all black shoes last week. I got an email, and it was a limited number pre-sale promo. But I was wondering the same thing before I found those... would black with white soles be okay? Surely that’s okay though!!

Let me know how you like the Cloves. They were terrible and super hard IMO, and since they have the policy of having to be 100% brand new in order to return them, I didn’t try and see if I could break them in. I didn’t want to risk not being able to return them

oh Thanks for sharing. I still want comfortable shows so I ll chose them by that and use leather paint to paint the logos and linings. The quality of the shoe makes a HUGE difference on the lower back and the knees.I had a state gvmt job which includes a lot of standing up and walking and we had to wear black shoes too - boots or something resembling a boot. Some of the older high ranked people had already titanium knees replacements, or/and titanium hips and several lower back surgeries....

What days and times are clinicals?

Look in canvas. They will post them

Look up Merrell Men's Jungle Moc Slip-On Shoe. They are the best I have worn.

I like those but the logo is gray and " MakingTheRounds, BSN, RN" said some teacher will make an issue about that , they want all black including logos and linings or or white. I personally like the Nike shocks but the logo is a different color as well. If it is an issue I will just paint the logo. I didn't mean painting the whole shoe....just the logo and make them all one color...

The people that recommended those are all UTA nursing students. They are fine.

I looked them up - NOT MY STYLE, I feel I ll look like a dork in those, just a matter of taste. I m either into nice athletic kicks or rugged steel toe type boots.

Then I guess a different color logo won't matter. as ling as there not to much with lining of different colors.
