Anyone have any insight on this program? I'm in the process of applying and would love to know about the school!

Specializes in Peds OR as RN, Peds ENT as NP.

I mentioned it. Definitely a good thing. You will find that they really encourage higher education and have a BSN-PhD program that took some new grads.

mgholm: I worked at the same hospital during the summers as a patient attendant, however, when I applied for job openings as a PCT I was having no real luck. Finally I spoke to the manager of the floor I work on currently and she told me to apply for an opening she had. I then trained for three weeks with my preceptor before working the floor on my own.

Ok, I have a really silly question. I see the word preceptor used on all kinds of sites. Is this just a mentor/supervisor/trainer? Or is there something else, some other connotation?

I also applied for the summer accelerated BSN and I'm dying to find out! My application status was changed to committee on Monday, which receiving an e-mail from the program gave me an instant heart attack! I can't even imagine what it's going to be like when I get another application status change! I'm super nervous and have a bad feeling which is making it worse because I only applied to USF because it's my alma mater and I don't want to leave Tampa, so if I don't get in I get to pursue a career in accounting instead...... yayy. I'm hoping we find out soon! Like tomorrow! Good luck to all!

If you don't mind my asking, one year later, are you happy with the program? I just got my acceptance into USF's 2nd degree program, and I've already been accepted into South University. I'm worried about the program, any thoughts? Advice?

I just in as well. I have only heard great things about this program and I am excited!!

I just got in as well!!! Yay!!!

ahhhhhhh! I got in too!! Congrats to all!

Sam, such a scholar!

Sweet I got in. Congratulations to everyone

Just curious if anyone who got in didn't have any type of healthcare experience?

Specializes in None yet ;-).

Hi everyone! I just got accepted to the 2012 summer 2nd degree track! Congrats to those here who got in and to those who didn't...don't give up!!! Samiam - I only had minimal volunteer exp. in a hospital ER. I'm completely new to the Tampa bay area and fret having to find a place to live with no knowledge. Advice on areas to choose from? If anyone here wants to consider finding a place with other nursing students I would definitely consider it for the obvious benefits. We all have to concentrate and work hard. The next year is going to be tough but I know I'm so excited to get on with it!!! :-)
