First job on a cardiac unit
Hi everyone! I just graduated from a BSN program this past December and passed my NCLEX about a month ago! I was just offered a position on a cardiac med-surg floor and am very excited, it starts around mid-May! Just curious for any tips or information I could use to prepare myself for starting out on the right foot! Like, maybe what things to look over (obviously EKG strips, etc.) or any advice you'd like to pass along to me!

I know for sure TGH, STJ (st josephs), and the VA are the choices and I think one other for the accelerated-- I didn't know what the initals stood for though

I thought the VA hospital was one of them? It would be nice considering it is right across the street from the college of nursing..you could just walk to clinicals from class! Talk about convenient.

well if we all live around the same area we could always car pool to clinicals! :) lol

Wonder if we get to pick where we do clinicals or if they choose for us?

Brandon is a really nice area, but i'm not sure about carrollwood. Soho is nice! It'd be a really cool place to live..minus the expensive-ness of it.

I'm not sure, I'll probably look over some things and find things to practice with. I really don't want to have to do those workshops if I get under a 75%
