Anyone have any insight on this program? I'm in the process of applying and would love to know about the school!

Since no one has replied.... I applied to the ABSN program back in Fall of 2010. I didn't make the cut but I was close. I'm currently a RN but went teh ADN route at a state college. I'm still working towards my goal of a MSN. Check this thread as I believe I posted the rubric they use (or at least they used back in 2010). Your pre-reqs and your CUM GPA carry the most weight. If you've gotten A's in A&P 1, 2, Micro and Stats and your CUM is a 3.41 or better you've got a decent shot. It's a tough program to get into as they typically only have 36 seats available. Good Luck

Thanks dp133 for responding. I thought my message fell on deaf ears. ahahahaa. I found out today I did get into the Accelerated program at USF so I am extremely stoked and nervous to begin classes. I interested to see the class schedule for the summer since it starts on May 13 and it's only 10 weeks long.

This was my schedule when I started in May 2011. Be ready for non-stop studying and exams! :bookworm:

Fundies: Mon & Thu 0800-1045

Physical Exam & Assessment: Mon & Thu 1100-1215

Pharmacology: Mon & Thu 1300-1515

Patho: Mon & Thu 1530-1815

Fundies lab: Tue 1030-1300

Fundies clinical: Wed 0700-1700

Oh wow. Ok. Thanks kristykat. I noticed you didn't have a Friday class in the summer. Any reason for that? Also, I don't know what your circumstance was back then but were you able to work? Do you know of resources for nursing scholarships? Sorry for all the questions. I just want to make the most informed decisions.

I was on the VA team & we never had clinicals on Fridays. Plus Fundies was only one clinical day per week. All of the other clinicals were two days per week. Your clinical days will vary based on what hospital team you are placed with. It was highly recommended that we didn't work during the accelerated program but I know a few people who got jobs as patient care techs after they completed the first semester. I personally didn't work at all. The CON was pretty good about notifying you of nursing scholarships as they became available.

Hey guys (I hope someone answers haha!)

I'm applying for Fall and I was curious if you knew what GPA they look at..I know they say cumulative but all schools are different. I have 3 degrees, an AA from a CC, a Bachelors & a Masters from the University of Florida. I know other schools will consider your cumulative as your last completed degrees cumulative GPA, so Im curious if USF does that too. I have 3 different GPAs so I have no idea which one they look at.

USF looks at all college courses completed/attempted when calculating your cumulative GPA. Hope that helps! :)
