  1. My sister denied her interview for another school so hopefully that's a good sign for you, good luck :)
  2. I was recently interviewed and accepted into South Alabama's accelerated BSN/MSN program for July 2014! I'm super excited! If anyone else was accepted and wants to chat about the upcoming program or has any suggestions on good areas to live, PM me or email me at [email protected]
  3. I know it's not the same but just in case anyone else is reading, I recently received my interview for the accelerated bsn/msn program for July and they let me know by the end of the interview that I had been accepted. Go Jags!
  4. Thanks for the info! Do you know what the pre reqs for the traditional program are? I applied for the accelerated but checked the box that asked to be considered for the traditional as well but I'm not even sure what those pre reqs are
  5. What was your GPA that they calculated? If you don't mind me asking. And which GPA do they look at? Overall or pre req? I'm just trying to figure my chances for getting on for fall :) congrats everyone!
  6. University of South Alabama. I've heard good things- I know someone who just completed their accelerated degree there and already has a job on a pediatric floor where she wanted and my boyfriends cousin is also currently in their traditional program and she loves it. It's worth looking in to if you don't mind moving- it literally borders Florida so it's not that far...and it's beautiful there. Deadline for their end of July class is April 1st but they take late applications and their application isn't difficult- just a resume and some papers to fill out and sign.
  7. No I haven't..I actually applied for the class starting in July but I was just curious because I read they do interviews. Have you guys tried contacting them about why you haven't heard/when you are going to hear? You said it's been 7 weeks, that's a while...I would think you should hear soon if classes start summer- that's just around the corner...it's almost April lol.
  8. When I petitioned last year, I got wait listed and they never notified me about getting off/ where I was...you kinda just have to wait around and then if classes start then you know you didn't get off. I petitioned again this year but I'm not expecting anything- especially since you just said there's no spots open for originally wait listed people. I applied to a program in south Alabama and you can get in state tuition- it's right on the border of Alabama and Florida. You should look into it if you don't have any other options...they have fall and spring start dates and you can ask them to consider you for their traditional program if try don't accept you in their accelerated.
  9. I think it would just be random depending on where you are on the waitlist & how many spots they have available... but I would assume not after 5. For petitions, it's an email not a phone call.
  10. Anyone hear about petitions?
  11. Awesome, thank you!!! also I read that someone said USA had bad reviews- I wouldn't believe that because I know someone who graduated the accelerated and liked it and now has a job in peds at a great hospital. My boyfriends cousin is actually going through the traditional program now and has a lot of good things to say about it. I'll choose to go off of those instead, plus at this point, I just really want to go to nursing school.
  12. Hi everyone!! I actually live in Florida and am a University of Florida graduate (hence the name haha!) I applied to USAs traditional and accelerated program but for fall (the July class?) in Florida that's still summer but I guess it's different there. Do any of you know how competitive the program is? I'm so nervous! I have a bachelors in health science from UF and a Masters in health education and behavior from UF. My masters GPA is a 3.63 and my bachelors is a 3.5...I finished the pre reqs a while ago and they are about a 3.4. I'm having such difficulty finding any information about the program and how competitive it is and I'm glad I found this thread! Do you guys have any idea or believe I may have a good chance? I'm hoping I get some good news, I visited the school last summer on vacation and loved it! Good luck to you all, I hope you all get in!
  13. Also if you are wait-listed after the petition, they take the original wait listed people over the petitions.
