tkn010, The pre-reqs you listed above, are all the one's you need. The one's listed under Major Requirement, are streamline more towards your Major. If you make A's in all of your remaining pre- reqs, I think that you will be fine in regards to getting first acceptance, but again it is all according to your competition for that semester!

Hi tkn010, To be very honest with you, it all depends on your competition applying for a seat that term. I do know that this past summer, between 40-45 were accepted for the traditional bsn program, and nearly 400 hundred applied, as I was told by an advisor. If I were you, and if at all possible, I would take some of your pre-req courses over, to raise your GPA. USA only is interested in your Pre-req gpa..

What actually led you to apply to their program? Are you saying that, had you found this information before applying and getting accepted, you would not have applied? You can not base you situation off of everyone else, meaning you don't know what the stats specifically entail! If you really feel this concern with " the stats" of the University of South Alabama, than perhaps you need to decline your acceptance, and allow someone else the chance of an opportunity to make the best of the program!

Transfers do not matter, as I am a transfer and will be starting the nursing program this summer. However, there is a certain amount of applicants that the CON selects each semester, and they mainly look at the pre- reqs for nursing gpa.

they are: English I and II, Biology+lab, Pre-calculus or Finite math, Chemistry, Psychology I and II or Sociology, a sequence in History or Literature, Fine arts course, Humanities elective, Public speaking, Microbiology or Infectious Disease, A&P I and II with labs, Statistics, Computer Application course, and Micro or Macro Economics. So this is the required 61 credit hours for the traditional program.

They look at your pre reqs for the program gpa. the calculations they had on my file was a 3.27. However, my correct gpa that they were suppose to originally have and have now is 3.56 My advise to anyone is to set an appointment up with an advisor, to find out why you have been wait listed or denied, if one of the two has occurred. My main purpose for my appointment was to see what gpa was calculated for me going into the competition, and what was the cut off gpa, which I wasn't able to get that answer.

michelernibclc , yes I did get accepted! They miscalculated my gpa, which placed me on their wait list. After I spoke with an advisor they saw the mistake and offered me a seat. The advisor did say that all the seats were filled for all summer programs.

well I just found out today that I am accepted after they had calculated a wrong GPA for me which they put me on a waiting list which was the letter I received last week.. I'm so excited to be starting this summer. they also stated that all spots were filled for this summer.

Lol!! trust me i know the feeling!! The letter was dated for March 25

Hi GatorLove , Just from knowing some people that has applied and were accepted to the program, as well as reading other post, I would say that your chances of being accepted are pretty high with your prior degree gpas :) . Hopefully your pre reqs gpa, will be good enough. It really just all depends on your current competitors gpa!!
