Anyone have any insight on this program? I'm in the process of applying and would love to know about the school!
Okay thanks! I didn't get all the emails yet but I'm sure I will get them sometime today. I had to go back and make sure it said "accepted" (again) and make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me. I looked on the fall class schedule and saw that there are four sections of 12 for Fundamentals of Nursing clinical for SBN students. Maybe that means they accepted 48 people this fall!
Hey everyone!
Congrats to everyone who got in!!!
I somehow came across this page when looking for info on USF. I recently got accepted into the program also... nervous and scared about it I guess. I'll be making the big move from WA state. Yep trading in the cold rain for sunshine! It looked like we need to go to a general orientation and the one 29 & 30 of this month. Are any of you going to to the 7/21 general orientation?
I'll also be looking for a roommate. It would be nice to live with like minded people in the similar situation (nursing school). I have been looking around at apartments online and also talking to my cousins who live in Tampa what are good and bad areas. I probably wont decide until I get there and look around. Try'n to get all of that figured out this month. I'd love to get to know my fellow classmates.
I called them this morning, there are 36 of us!
I'm glad to hear that there are other out-of-state students, and that I'm not the only one! (I'm from PA).. I am flying down this week to learn more about the program and make sure that I would be happy in the Tampa area. I will also be checking out areas to live, I think I already have an idea from just researching online where I want to look at. Anyways, if I do decide on USF I will probably be interested in a roommate as well. Its definitely a big move and I can't believe how short of a time we have to plan!

I am going to the 7/21 orientation. Sorry, I don't have enough posts yet so could not private message you back. I guess initial reaction with looking for an apartment was "OMG there's POOLS everywhere!Looks like resorts!!!!" I have looked up alot of places that sounded good, but when i went on apartmentratings.com read terrible things about the places. I initially thought a furnished place close to campus would be good, but it seems those places have a lot of vandalizm and noise problems. I heard Brandon? is a good area, but kind of a drive. I look forward to meeting you at the orientation! Will you be arriving soon before the 7/21 orientation? I'll be in FL from the 16th and will be apartment hunting for the 2weeks I'm there except for the time I'm at the orientations.
Everyone-
Any reccomendations for good areas to live near USF? HAve any good luck with any certain apartment complexes?? I'm not looking for monestary quiet, just not wanting to live near rediculous amounts of partying every night.
Anyone know anything about campus logde or anythign about the "industrial park" region? it seems to be near the hospitals.
PITA 16-
I'm defo freaking out as well about how much we have to do in such a short little time! I'm trying to pack up my life as quick as possible and trying to figure out how much of my wardrobe I can bring.... being from near Seattle, I'm used to winter clothes almost all year round and wear alot of black, brown, and grey... somehow I don't think that's gonna work out for Florida.
All of us looking for roomates:
We might want to meet up sometime this month to see if we would be compatible as roommates! It would definately split the cost of rent and we could save money... especially since the program isn't that cheap and is actually quite steep of a price for us from-out-of-staters!!:lol2:
I will be in town the 20-22nd and then come back the 28th through who knows. Hopefully I can make a final decision, sign lease and all that then. I would like to physically move there by Aug 15th.
The great thing is that if you have a roommate you can live in a nice complex because you won't be paying by yourself.
I cant wait until the official orientation on the 29th!

Check the e-mail you provide to USF. They will send you 10 files of documents. Read each one and follow the instructions provided. If you do not have all the immunizations (like me) start now!!!! ...Do not forget to get your background check....a link is provided....it costs $64 for the unlicense nurses...and that is the one to choose.
